I'm still trying to wrap my head around what possessed me to watch this when I've seen 0 episodes of the original Glass Mask (or the 2005 remake). But the fact that this is a throwback to an anime that is at least 10 years old, and this is the best they can do? It's sad; it's really, really sad.  Story: The plot is that part of the main cast from Glass Mask are acting like students in order to bring more passion to the world. Aside from a couple nuances like how the characters interact, the plot is pretty simple to follow. You won't need to watch the original or remake series in order to get the storyline... probably? This is mainly because the plot is episodic and frankly, really stupid. There's an entire episode devoted to the "message seen" graveyard.  Animation: And here's where the anime lost all of it's points, well the remainder of its points. Between the eye-bleed inducing CGI, the random "white eyes" shock effect, and the fact that only the main cast were given features, the anime just reaked of low budget. Not that I really expect DLC Inc. to have much of a budget... Just look at it Sound: Wait... they actually got Daisuke Ono for this? He did voice a character in the original, but not Masumi, so I really have no idea what's going on there. In fact, the main cast are all seasoned saiyuus, though Ono is the only one returning to Glass Mask. And while I found the voices to be overly dramatic, I think that had more to do with character design and direction than any fault of the seiyuus.  Characters: Here's where you probably need to go and watch Glass Mask first. The characters come prepackaged with all the history given to them in the original anime. While some of the interactions are implied, much of it is left to the viewer to recall a decade-old anime for reference on characters. Also, there are only 5 characters, despite them interacting with the student body. The other students are colored blobs without feature or personality.  Overall: Should you watch this? No offence to the seiyuus, but this was hot garbage. This review brought to you by the Catch Up with Fall 2016 Marathon.
