Pom Poko

Pom Poko

In modern Japan, Tokyo is expanding and considerably reducing animals' habitats, including those of the tanuki (raccoon-like creatures). What humanity doesn't know, though, is that tanuki are intelligent creatures, that can talk and even walk on two legs with the power of transformations! To secure their survival, the two combating tanuki clans join forces against mankind in a war they dub 'Pom Poko'! Humans are a difficult adversary, though... can the tanuki open mankind's eyes to the beauty of nature, before their homes are replaced by yet another suburb?

Tanum Tanum says...

The Eccentric Family is about what happens with the racoons after they started to live in the humans world, while Pom Poko is the story of their begining. If you love tanukis then you should definitely watch both.

sanane sanane says...

Both have shape-shifting tanuki folks who try to adjust to a world inhabited by humans who are oblivious to their existence.

When his family allows Kouichi to keep the Kappa, much to his bratty little sister’s annoyance, he affectionately names it Coo. But even though the Uehara family helps Coo regain his strength, and even battle him in an odd sumo match, Coo longs to find more of his kind. However, after following a few leads on where they may find more Kappas, Coo becomes the centre of a media storm, turning his life upside down. Will Coo ever be able to escape the constant hounding of the press, and can he find his place in this new world?
