The Big O II - Reviews

The first season of The Big O, is so freaking awesome, but the 2... I really don't like it. The psychological plot of the 1 season don't stay here. 

What I Liked: Less re-used footage this time around, finally got used to the animation, the ending (while surprising didn't feel like it came completely out of the blue). Also, character development wasn't bad.

What I Didn't: Episode 18 was a bit out of place, the series felt like it meandered around before finally getting to the plot around Episode 19 / 20, soundtrack's still repetitive, the ending.

Final Verdict: This ambitious second season is where the writers truly let loose. It takes the conspiracy present in later episodes of The Big O and runs with it creating a beautiful but convoluted mess of genre tropes, metaphors and intrigue. 

The overall pacing of both seasons combined is akin to someone letting you dip you feet in before shoving you into the cold waters below without warning.
