The biggest problem with the show (in my opinon) is that the mc is crazy overpowered. The mc makes freinds wih everyone and with every enemy he ethier befriends or easily defeats them. The story is a 4 becuase its not that good. the story starts of with a 37 year old guy getting randomly stabbed and gets reciarnated as a slime. He makes the goblins respect him and they start to build a village. the village gets bigger and bigger as the show goes on but the show gets really repetitive. Animation is a 7 becuase its some good animation but could be better. Sound is a 7 becuase there is some good sounds. Characters is a 4 becuase almost every single character does not have backstory or deep feelings. the only character with a backstory is the slime but he is not a very good character either. overall i would give this show a 4. I would not recommend this show but watch it if your curious.

~Keeping it short. No spoilers!

If you're doubting to watch the anime, I can assure you that its at least worth the watch.

(isekai, comedy, fantasy, magic, demon lords)

The protagonist, Rimuru is a very likeable guy, (rather he was) who's reborn as a powerful slime. He quickly makes friends and allies in the new fantasy world with his refreshing mindset and great personality. He uses his moral compass and knowledge of japanese society to create a utopia for the 'monsters' he calls his friends. Allthough some character's backstories leave room for improvement, the first season leaves you wanting for more.

Story         - 8/10 setting up for some major developments in the succeeding seasons.

Animation  - 9/10 I'm not an expert, but i had no specific remarks.

Sound       - 8/10

Characters - 7/10 We are introduced to some genuinly likeable characters, but its a shame that more often then not                              the backstory and character depelopment is just lacking making it sort off a waste.

Overall 8,3/10 I just really enjoyed watching it and am looking forward to the next season.

There is an unforgivable crime in the world of storytelling.  And that is the act of taking something promising and destroying it utterly.  It's akin to stomping on a budding flower or treating an innocent child like dirt.  It ruins what should otherwise be something beautiful that we can all relate to as human beings.  But even worse, it undoes all the joy that was experienced before by tainting it with what comes after.

That is this show in a nutshell.  While the introductory episode was unclear and wanting -- a lot of boring and expository writing -- the second episode unveiled what had the potential to be quite promising.  The plot itself is rather typical and overused: a middle-aged man who failed at personal connections dies and is reincarnated into a new body, with all his memories intact.  But it was the new being he became that gave the show true potential.  As a slime, he appeared powerless, but could absorb the world around him, making him much more powerful  This idea carried on into the show as he traveled out into this new world and used these powers to liberate the downtrodden and dregs of society, in the process managing to construct his own town.

The potential of this kind of a story cannot be understated.  Here we have someone who has a chance at redemption and is able to build an entire society in a new world by liberating those in need and being kind to them.  And that is exactly what he does.  The protagonist is very kind, sometimes overly so, and has no interest in placing undue demands upon anyone.  The first few episodes project feelings of goodness and love and instruct us that we are all able to change the world around us in positive ways.  Like I said, the show had enormous potential.

But then whoever was writing this clearly gave up entirely.  I don't know if the anime reflects the manga, but if it does, I certainly question the mangaka's intent.  The writer(s) immediately surrendered to empty tropes and cliches, introducing worthless characters, some of which undermined the protagonist entirely (a certain underdressed girl shows up and nosedives the show hard).  This undermining is conveniently explained away with pathetic plot devices and it is by this point that Slime gives fully into thoughtless storytelling that relies on templates rather than creativity.

I almost couldn't make it to the end of the first season and there is absolutely no chance I will watch the second.  Near the end of the first season they introduce some school children, a story arc which takes an already suspect show and buries it beneath piles of manure.  It was so painful to force myself to sit and watch the last few episodes that the only reason I continued was so that I could be properly informed enough to write a review.

This show warrants a 1/10, or worse.  I only give it a 2 because some of the animation is breathtaking.  In fact, if you're only interested in visuals, I suggest turning off the sound and running the show at double- or even triple-speed.  It's obvious that there was a great deal of care given to some of the stills and it would be unfair to blame the illustrators and animators for the disastrous storytelling.

Unless you've never watched an anime in your life, or you're a glutton for excruciating boredom, avoid this show at all costs.  There is nothing worse than getting sucked into something only to be abused afterwards.  It's like stepping into a bear trap while taking a nice walk in a gentle forest.  Do not watch this trash.

Honestly, I hated this anime from the get go. The fact that the MC is a slime changes nothing. It's still a typical isekai harem anime. Except, this one's more boring than the others because of how EASY it is for the MC. He doesn't train, but uses his game buttons to achieve the next power up. Also, like a typical harem, other characters are not allowed to shine. So, just imagine having to watch 50+ EPs of a slime fiddling around, and you just KNOW he's going to win. There isn't much world building here either. Overall, I found it to be a massive waste of time.

I actually really like this anime, all the characters have really good personalities, the animation inst that bad if you think about a lot of good animes that have bad animation *cough *cough *SDS *cough and there is actually a pretty good well-paced storyline that you can understand.
