Oh my... heartbreaking end

*spoilers*

Steam Community :: :: 9 and 12

I'm going to be honest at first I thought it was kind of dry.. but then I got into it and wow. The backstory of 9, 12 and 5 is really sad and idk just processing the ending rn. That ending really caught me off guard to say the least.

i still can't get over this ending ugahdf;la gifs | WiffleGif

Really worth the watch and any other emotions you get later! Found it really sweet how in their attacks you will see they tried to not hurt anyone or kill anyone. They tried so hard to get their story out and to be recognised and in the end.. damn, was it worth it.. :(

Would have loved to have known what all the side effects were had they lived...

Also side note.. did anyone else not like the girl 'mc' lisa.. found her kind of annoying and unnessessary..sorry.

Wow. I love this anime. It never became as famous as other animes due to the fact that it was heavily censored in the USA.  Nowadays, you can find it relatively easily. I think the censorship is due to its plot of likable terrorists being successful in exposing corrupt government programs.

The USA is very slick with what they censor. I remember switching between watching and reading the anime “Ajin.” In the manga, the character did a 911-type airplane attack on a building, but in the anime it was a simple bombing- Very interesting.

Anyway, the logical analysis and thriller-type action scenes are very cool and unique.

They do make it easier to like the main characters, due to the fact that they are “ethical” in their own minds (refusing to kill innocent bystanders). I never imagined myself rooting for the terrorist- but in this case, it was justified. They are a little hard to relate to due to their traumatic past but that's undertandable.

There is one annoying "useless female token" character. There are also a few unrealistic occurances here and there but these minor gripes don’t spoil the anime.

The ending was sad, but understandable. The opposite side (the police and investigators) are somewhat relatable. They slip up a lot. It certainly helps you see both sides of the coin.

WARNING: This anime is hard to stop at any point in the series. It is a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

8/10 overall.

A heartfelt story of people who want to be seen and heard. It was way too short. The pacing was perfect. Yoko Kanno does it again with her beautiful soundtrack... The characters could use work but it's not about the characters, it's about the message of the story, which was beautiful and volatile. My favorite relationship was between Detective Shibazaki and Nine. Nine and Twelve's relationship is beautiful and close for obvious reasons. This is a good show with a good story and a good message and good music.

First some items I need to adress. I'm Dutch to expect some spelling errors, if they are to annoying just message me and I'll fix it.

My opinion may vary from others and this is fine. People are different so there is a good chance that I will not like what you love. Deal with it. I'm not telling you that you should hate it too, I'm telling you why I didn't like it.

I'll try to keep swearing to a minimum but fail utterly on occasion. In general it is the more the anime pisses me off the more I swear so watch out for the low scored ones.

Art: Art is fine as it should be for a modern anime. There is not much to say about this, it's fine.

Sound: No real complaints actually, it's pretty ok. Voice actors are good and I don't remember any music either. This is how I generally prefer my anime.

Characters: The main characters are 9 and 12. Their real names are unknown but they are highly intelligent and very focused on getting revenge. 9 is cold and calculating while 12 is much more happy go lucky.

Lisa is a young highschool girl who runs into the boys. Her mother is smothering her and she is bullied at school.

Shibazaki is a police officer whos carrier was sidetracked after crossing the wrong people. He is very intelligent and latches onto the terrorist case.

Story. Lisa's live is Hell. Her mother smothers her and she is bullied at school. All this changes when she runs in 9 and 12 during a terrorist attack. She discovers that they are the terrorists and decides to join them. While not happy with the attacks she is interested in the boys and their goal.

Rant. The anime starts pretty strong with the boys stealing weapons grade plutonium before moving on to their next phase. The boys are very intelligent and manage to plan everything down to the second to carry out their plan. It is very unfortunate though that the crashing building is very similar to the collapse of the WTC during 9/11.

Sadly the anime takes a nosedive when 5 turns up with the US government. Why? Because up until then it was more or less based on reality. 9 and 12 planned everything perfectly and people played right into them. 5, however  seems to know everything. Including the things she shouldn't or couldn't know. It is almost that she is psychic in how she handles things and it pulled me out of the series.

Terror in Resonance is a heartbreaking yet bold story told by two boys in japan who suffer from being held in captivity for the majority of their childhood. These two boys Nine and Twelve take you on a journey to tell the world what its like to be forgotten. They go on a mission to tell japan that these boys once lived before, while doing that they meet a girl who reminds them of the people they were with and all the terror they witnessed. Nine and Twelve will have a great affect on you during the anime through glad and sad parts of the anime, which came to an end too quickly to comprehend you'll have to watch the tremendous anime for yourself. Happy Watching!

P.S Please give Terror in Resonance a chance, its worth it.
