If you are after an early anime then there are lots better out there. The story basically revolves around the samurai getting attacked by a hand and then trying to escape. Extremely random situation and although you'd be impressed with it if your classmates came up with it, this was done by professionals.

The animation is typical of the era, not amazing but still pretty good. My low rating is simply because of how far animation has moved on since the days of this short film. There is loss of picture at times but I think this is mainly due to how old the animation is.

The music basically makes the video, not an epic soundtrack by any means, but that old fashioned feeling is good to listen to in a while so I gave it a very respectable 5 out of 10. This is what basically made anime's in that day and age, the music as speech was very limited if at all.

Characters I've given a 2 because the hand and the samurai seems to have been come up with at the last minute and thrown into a story. I don't really get a bond for any of these two characters and don't think I'd waste my time rewatching.

Overall a bad review for this I'm afraid. Even with the bad rating though, I still recommend you take 2 minute of your time to just see what this early anime is about and how much we have progressed since then.

2/10 story
4/10 animation
5/10 sound
2/10 characters
3/10 overall
