This is *mostly* a strong season of a great show, where character development seems to matter and people learn things and grow while remembering who they are fundamentally, but I take a little bit of issue with the fact that two abusive fathers whose daughters became heroes are rehabilitated in this season, while one *kind, caring father* had a daughter who became a villain. I hoped that Hibiki and Tsubasa's found family--Miku, the other wielders, and their school friends--would have told their fathers off for failing them when they needed parents most of all.

It's a "wrong take" in a way that this show is very likely to go, as at it's core, the value set it holds is that everyone can be understood, and through understanding, loved, but it's still a bad take. When someone's estranged from their parents, there's usually a good reason it should probably stay that way, and while it may hurt, the solution to that hurt is usually not to let that person back into their life.
