Both Rocket Girls and Stratos 4 are about girls that go to outer space. If you liked the CG in one, then you'd surely enjoy the CG in the other.
Both feature high school girlsand going into space. RG does it through a start-up space program looking for a lightweight astronaut. S4 does it through needing eager pilots to shoot down meteorites. Though the plots differ, as does the overall focus, they still will appeal to people who like a show aimed at space, and feature enough similarities in tone that I feel people who like one, would enjoy the other.
One is about girls who wants to go to space, the other is about girls who ends up in space.
Rocket girls is lots of fun, while Stratos 4 instead has action and suspense.
Both have surprisingly good backgrounds in reality, both technical and physical, despite normal artistic license.

The fact that there's an obvious plot similarity is enough to recommend these two for each other; even the way the plot is handled is similar! The stories become intense but not overly complex, and there's a great atmosphere that draws you in. The characters are emphasized. Stellvia and Stratos 4 are, without a doubt, must see anime!
Somewhat similar story, aircraft and spacecraft, Stellvia is lighter while Stratos 4 has a far more serious undertone and more focus on character development.

Both have an "X-files" feel and atmosphere. Without spoiling the plot, the main characters in both perform missions that they are qualified to do.
After years apart, childhood friends Isamu Dyson and Guld Bowman reunite as rival pilots, each showcasing an experimental plane for the military. But their mutual love for longtime friend Myung threatens to spin their already tense feelings out of control! Now, each battles to secure Myung's affections, but even more dangerous than their own dark secrets is a clandestine plot involving superstar singer Sharon Apple that threatens all of humanity!

A sort of similar focus on jet flight, etc. and more importantly the training, etc. that goes into it. There's a fair amount here you might find enjoyable.
Peace Maker Kurogane takes place in Kyoto in the late 19th century, during the height of the conflict between the Shinsengumi, a shogunal police force, and its enemy, an anti-government faction called the Choshu. This tale follows a young boy named Ichimura Tetsunosuke who is desperate to join the Shinsengumi and avenge his parents' deaths by the hands of the Choshu. But in the midst of the bloodshed, will he be strong enough to survive?
Peace Maker and Stratos 4 are anime where the characters are the main priority. With a similar slower-paced flow and a good story, the feeling I get from these two is very similar. The story in each is kept interesting and is less oriented at younger viewers, yet it doesn't go deep enough to shake them off completely. I'm pretty sure you'd like Peace Maker if you liked Stratos 4 and vice versa.
The development of the Infinite Stratos powered exoskeleton changed the world’s balance of power. While the distribution of IS systems has created peace, only women have been able to pilot them. So when Ichika Orimura is discovered to be the first male with the ability to control an IS, whatever plans he had for his future are tossed out the window even as he’s thrown to the wolves and enrolled at the otherwise entirely female Infinite Stratos Academy by order of the Japanese government!

Teenage girls, high tech weapons, save the world... Both of these anime have a lot in common. Stratos 4 has a little more realistic premise (aliens notwithstanding), shoot down meteor fragments to save the world.
Infinite stratos is a bit more science fictiony, with personal mechs, and what might as well be magic. Both start off fairly similar. Protaganists going to school, learning to operate the high tech equipment, deal with personal stuff, things like that.
IS is a little different in that there is a romance/harem thread to go along with it, Stratos 4 lacks both the Harem completely, and no real romance to speak of.
While different, if you like to see Teenage Girls (and a guy in IS) fly planes and mechs and save the world, if you like one, I highly recommend checking out the other.
The Watcher’s Nest has escaped the final experiment via the "Exodus" emergency procedure to Earth… or have they? Different eras of history appear on the planet, but with only 2 constants: the presence of a Ghoul’s specular and Kureha Misaki. Can Major Lyar, Kiri, Commander Woerns and the crew unravel the mystery of the time barrier, Misaki and the Ghouls to escape this warped reality, and find their way home?

Very different, but also very alike.
Both are "girls saves the world", though in very different ways. Stratos 4 works hard to be reasonably realistic while Divergence Eve instead goes for more mythical qualities.
Both also have a much deeper and larger plot than you think. And creepier.

Garbage cleaners of the orbits and meteor sweepers, protectors of earth doesn´t sound much alike?
They´re not, but both put a lot into reasonable realism and character development.
Both also have far more serious plots going on. Planetes is more fun and drama, while Stratos 4 is action and suspense.
