Probably the first anime to openly have a transgender character which is RARE in anime. Hibari litterally wants everyone to see her as a girl the entire time even though practically her entire family including the guy she like are blinded by cultural bigotry and expectations and constantly belittle her for being true to herself. For anyone else who is transgender as well it will take you back to the days of highschool. I really think this anime was written to help trans women that come from abusive families have a way to cope with the abuse. I mean this anime got me through highschool!!! I remember when i was 15 and saw the episode where Hibari was depressed about not being able to develope boobs like the other girls, while all the while her entire family made fun of her for it and called her a weirdo and a freak it made me cry. Still does. Reminds me of how I had to fake a smile and tough through the abuse myself. Not to mention there are a few times where Hibari's dad trys to kill her and is stoped by relatives. Which has happened to me before as well. I guess im a little biased when I say I adore Stop!! Hibari-Kun! because it literally parralels my life. This anime literally means so much to me. It gave me strength to take getting misgendered and beaten and screamed at and abused every day. Because if Hibari was tough enough to handle it then so was I!!!!! Love this anime so much!!!

I have only watched 5 episodes... for reasons im not going to admit to outloud. I want to watch the rest, but... (well... you may find yourself in my situation and understand what im talking about). This anime is old as of this review... but its good. I think its very good for its time too. Being that it doesnt even have enough ratings to give an average yet, I wanted to give a little extra info. This isnt entirely unique in its idea, although maybe in its time it was... yakuza, transvestite heir to the throne, etc. (there are other animes with yakuza, and transvestites: new one= jellyfish princess) This anime is funny. Hibari is hallarious... like a gay guy.. kinda... but idk how to explain it. The main character boy that comes to live with the family is stupid, yet not unbearably stupid... and he isnt a wimp. although compared to hibari, he is! lol He isnt a fool, is what i mean to say... For example... he is stupid to believe the boxing club manager likes him, yet when he finds out she doesnt, he gives up and moves on... like he should, instead of wasting time. Another thing... some of the characters understand that hibari and the main boy like each other (kinda) even though its wierd... and they dont like it, but yet do like it? lol I know its a contradiction, but its a funny wierd one. Anyways, if you have the opportunity to check it out, do so! I think it deserves a chance.

I really like this anime! It's a gag anime without too much of a story, but it's very entertaining! I wish we got more of Tsumugi & Sabu because I really liked their characters! I really don't know if Hibari is trans are not because the story kinda points that she just crossdresses. I like how towards the end of the story Ibari was more accepting towards Hibari! Overall, the is a very good gag anime & I heard it's a manga so I hope it's in english!
