The clashing genres contained within each, the technology, the unlikely relationships between the two main characters, the tone and the length make these two pretty good picks.  It's worth mentioning that the stories are quite different so it's not like you're watching the same anime ;).

Both stories similar and are about life & death and the loss of a friend, however, the story is done way better in Anohana, so I recommend you watch that one instead.

Both stories deal the loss of a loved one and the desire to see them again, but it was done way better in Children Who Chase Lost Voices, which also has better and more interesting graphics.
