Both of these anime involve a lot of shinto mythology. Both have a fairly young protagonist dealing with the supernatural world and learning about the bridges between humanity and the spiritual realm. With lovely artistry and a mixture of comedy and adventure, these two animes definitely go together.

Both of these movies are from Studio Ghibli, and are both  whimsical tales about young girls who try to help their families. I think if you enjoyed this movie, you would enjoy the other just as well.

Both Tales from Earthsea and Spirited Away come from Studio Ghibli and don't disappoint in terms of production values - both are lavishly scored and richly animated.  These are GORGEOUS to view! Both have the same poignant feel.

If you liked Tales from the Earthsea with its protagonist seeking to run away from his dark inner cursed self, who ends up fighting at the edge of magic to save the world, then Spirited Away's Chihiro's quest to un-curse her parents and escape from the magical alternate realm where she is trapped should resonate with you.  And Chihiro's ultimate victory feels as successful as Aaren's redemption.

Both anime heroes each find support and assistance from a new friend who helps to strengthen their resolve and provides valuable clues toward overcoming all obstacles.

If you enjoyed watching either of these films, seeing the other will not disappoint!

Kaguya-hime no Monogatari is like Spirited Away in reverse.  Rather than a normal girl going to a magical world, a magical girl enters a normal world.  Both of them suffer the trials of their newfound home as they come to terms with life, love, and themselves, and, despite all odds, learn to see the joy in their situation.  They are both based heavily on Japanese mythology and have a very traditional Japanese folktale feel to the pacing and the plot. They're also both beautifull coming of age stories from Studio Ghibli, so if you like Ghibli's style, you'll like both of these movies.
