Just the obvious--they're both anime based off of video games, and I for one, am somewhat fond of anime based off of the classics. It does help that they both do their namesakes justice, of course.

Yes, I know this sounds a little crazy, but think about it. Who has not loved DBZ at the same time as Sonic ? Does Super Sonic has the same awesomeness as Super Saiyan Goku ? Hell no. But is it cool ? Hell yeah.

A main character, always overpowering their enemies, and with lot of friends who help them through all their adventures. That's pretty much all of it.

These are both two anime based on video games made by Sega. They both include adventure, unforgetable characters and have a lot in releation to games which they come from. If you liked Sonic X you'd mostly likely like Panzer Dragoon too, vis versa.

Both of these are based off of video game characters, and they... well to be honest, they use that as a crutch. If you like Kirby or Sonic then you may enjoy the show, but even then they are not amazing. BUT if you enjoy your video game characters in anime, liking one would mean you will like the other.

Both series are (mostly) kid friendly and are lighthearted in the earlier episodes. However, the final seasons of both shows are notably more mature and have higher stakes. IGPX becomes somewhat less kid-friendly, particularly in the dialouge (several instances of "d*mn" and "b*tch" in season 2). Sonic X also becomes much more serious but still keeps its kid-friendly tone for the most part. If your looking for more of a "kids anime" but still want a plot then these both of these shows are great to watch.
