Smile of the Arsnotoria the Animation - Reviews

Yeah, so end of the season and still can't figure out any real plot. Ya get random glimpses of bad guys but not enough to tell ya anything about them and mentions of bugs from time to time but no real explanation. It's pretty much cutesy girls hanging out having tea and occasionally helping each other with chores and homework. How was this a hit game that warranted an anime adaptation???? Are we sure they got the right one??? I can't imagine anyone spending hours playing this and finding any enjoyment at all. I'd be bored to death and wondering which NPC was going to tell me something that would give a hint of a direction instead of a random line about what they did today that wasn't out of the ordinary in the least because as far as I can tell... The most exciting thing that happens in the entire series is they get sent to pick up a newspaper, apples and milk. And spoiler alert... They accomplished the goal without incident and it took an entire episode. That's the edge of your seat right there. Exciting.... 🙄

So to start off this is based off a mobile game. Anime like that tend to be bad because the main purpose is to advertise the game. The story is mainly focused on 5  charaters and their daily life at a magic academy. Throughout the anime they don't fight with magic so do not expect action cause you will be disappoointed. Their are parts with a little action but that is more like a preview of the antagonists in the game (they do not fight against the main charaters in the anime). The animation is nice and more or less stopped me from dropping it. The charater design is by the same person who made rezero charaters so you can see the resemblance. All I can say is if you want something calm with cgdct and have nothing else to watch then this is worth giving a try.
