Basically the way I see this series is Slayers in space. It's not quite as epic, but there are some cool space battles, and a cool ship computer! The humor and overall feeling is identical.

The Slayers series and Lost Universe were not only made by the same person, but they also have the same animation style, the same type of humor and the same type of plot.As I read before, Lost Universe is pretty much Slayers in space.

Ruin Explorers

High fantasy, slap-stick humor, magic, and a group of less then ideal heroes. Unfortunately there is not much more to say then that, if you liked one then I must insist you try the other.

Really similar in terms of flow, art and animation and characters. I think the main difference is that Slayers is meant for a younger public, while Ruin Explorers has alot more mature jokes and some ecchi scenes.

Irresponsible Captain Tylor is another anime that follows the same lines as Lost Universe, with a lot of slap-stick humor as well as one huge underlying story. If you liked one, give the other a try.

Somehow, someone re-made Slayers into a new series called Rune Soldier Louie. Well not really, but they are truly quite alike. There is lots of sword fights and comical action for you to enjoy... so enjoy!

These series are simular as in the action vs. other powerful creatures/demons. As in Slayers, Lina Inverse a human, loves to fight using a strong Dragon-Slay magic attack in almost every episode vs. demons. To counter that -- discording in Hellsing, Alucard who is a demon(vampire), who fights others for a master.

The genras are simular and so are the personas. The only difference is that Lina Inverse likes money, food; and fights strong against all--even the weak. Alucard doesn't eat, he doesn't need money; and he has limitations to how much power he can use vs. weaklings. Mostly, these series are very good.

It perfectly reminds me of Slayers. It has the comedy type and the "dominant" woman with the "weaker" guy. It has magic, good fighting, good comedy and a good mysterious story line.

But Legend of the Legendary Heroes is much more mature and has more politics episodes as well. Has a better love story.
