Gintama

Gintama

In Gintoki's Japan, the arrival of the various space races known collectively as the Amanto ended the era of the samurai. The Amanto's highly advanced technology resulted in total conquest and a severe economic shift. Now, former samurai such as Gintoki scrape together whatever livelihood they can. Gintoki's profession of choice is that of a yorozuya: he'll...

Both Sket Dance and Gintama are gag series about people trying to help each other. Both have a protagonist who seems like a good-for-nothing but really cares about his friends, and both sometimes stop the hilarious comedy for a serious or really sad episode. Oh, and both ran in Shonen Jump, so both have the common themes of "friendship, hard work, and victory".

Gintama and SKET Dance maybe polar opposites when it comes to the timeline on which their respective stories are set, but don't be fooled.

First, the very purpose of the Yorozuya and SKET-dan are the same: they do anything for their clients.

Second, both groups are composed of three members (exclude the pets) with similar characteristerization: one leader figure, one freakishly strong female, and one megane character.

Third, Gintama and SKET Dance have similar comedy and sense of humor. Both series parody other anime series, as both main protagonists are very well conscious of their status as main character (and both don't want to be outdone by other characters). Gintama's famous randomness can also be seen in SKET Dance.

If you love the characters, the randomness, common humor, you'll surely love both series! Without a doubt, SKET Dance is the modern-campus-life Gintama!

Both Gintama and Sket Dance revolve around a group of three interesting characters who help others. One is the leader, the other is an otaku and last is a girl with fierce strength. Both are incredibly funny as well.

Both anime are about a club for helping people out. While Yahari has a more central romance plot as is indicated with love in the title. Sket dance still has a couple of romance arcs that people will probably be able to compare to Yahari. Both anime contain great comedy and have some duller episodes.

Sket dance is longer and therefore you will have to deal with them a bit more frequently however both anime possess quirky characters that manage to keep you in the story after their initial introduction. While Yahari's main strenght is it's male lead Sket dance is truly focussed on the club as a whole the most of the time and the club actually manages to have diverse and quirky characters.

Both shows feature a "Service Club"/Sket club dedicated to help people.Although here the MC does not have a loner life, Sket Dance has many Darker, deeper moments which make you cry your eyes out, which doesnt happen in SNAFU. And Sket Dance has better humour. But neverthless, both show offer similarities.

Both are about a high school student club that have the objective to help others students with their problems. Both are school life comedies, but they also have huge differences in some ways. SNAFU have more romance and is more mature in a lot of ways, while SKET Dance is more action oriented.

Anyway I just think it's worth a try as I enjoyed both of them and to me they seen similar. You have a great characters development, you start understanding more and more about the main characters throughout the series and ends up loving them.

Senyuu.

Senyuu.

One day, without warning, a huge hole appeared in the world and demons emerged, ready for battle. Assuming that the demon king sealed by a hero 1,000 years ago must have escaped, the king of the land set forth a decree: the hero’s descendents must defeat evil once more! For Alba, one such would-be hero, this journey will be anything but ordinary given...

Sket Dance and Senyuu are both a combination of humor and action. I highly recommend that if you are enjoying one you will enjoy the other.
