I really love this anime so far, it helped reignite my interest in skating. The characters are relatable, realistic and easy to like. There are discussions of the creator turning this anime into a BL (boys love), I personally wouldn't mind that. Langa and Reki do have the potential to be a fantastic couple along with JOE and Cherry. This is a great anime to watch if you are looking for something about friendships, hobbies and being a teenager!
I didn't expect too much from this anime, or rather I expected it to be a funny show I could chill at, I didn't expect it to be such a freaking rollercoaster, that I would be screaming at my computer screen throughout the whole episode, and that the one week wait would be killing me. Great story, unpredictable plots, a lot of stereotype-breaking, interesting and complex characters with good backstories, and possibly even some gay romance coming up (I've watched up til ep 9 as of now). I can't wait how everything will turn out and I can't recommend this show enough. It has engulfed me.
So, like a recent comment has already said, I didn't expect much from this anime. I put it on my watch list, but it's like those animes that you never end up watching. But for some reason, I'd always end up seeing this again.
So, I gave it a shot, you know, trying to see what all the hype was about. And believe me when I say I was blown away.
There were only seven episodes out when I started watching it, but now I wait every Saturday just to watch a new episode.
The animation is crisp, the story is the first I've seen, the sound is amazing, and literally all the characters are hot.
This was made by the creators of Banana Fish, so don't be surprised when you start crying.
Now, if you excuse me, I have to go buy a skateboard.
I really like the vibes of this I will definitely keep watching
(edit: I really love the story it is really amazing the characters are really relatable i love reki)
Like so many other comments have already said, I didn't expect much from this anime. I saw it one day on an upcoming winter 2021 anime list and decided to try it out (seeing as it was made by the creators of Banana Fish) and ended up being absolutely being blown away at this emotional rollercoaster, either bawling my eyes out or cheering at the top of my lungs in support for most characters.
There's characters with relatable and hilarious personalities (except ADAM we don't talk about him), realistic relationships between mentioned characters, an amazing plot and quite a few interesting backstories, like Tadashi's and Langa's. Although it doesn't break many stereotypical sports anime tropes, it does a great job of executing them.
And then there's the small details throughout the series. If you look closely, there's so many references to skating communities in real life, all scattered throughout the detailed animation from Bones of course. You can really tell they did their research! Overall, this anime is one I'd definitely reccommend watching, 10/10 :D
