If you liked Shining Tears, you'd also like Izumo because it is also about high school students being transported to a new world, friends battling friends and the act of having to choose one's loyalties.

if you like Izumo you must watch Shining Tears X Wind too. Top story is similar group of students send to another world to save it..good friends fighting each other for their belifes...some romance scense are included too ;)

Sttaarr Sttaarr says...

Both of these anime feature high-school students beings transported to another world.

Good friends are seperated and pitted against one another in opposing sides of a war, each fighting for what they believe in.

Shining Tears X Wind is slightly darker, however, along with slight ecchi.

Zaig Zaig says...

In these, a group of friends wind up in a fantasy world in the middle of a war. Unfortunately, some of the friends find themselves on opposing sides, and are forced to fight with one another. They either fight to live day by day in this dangerous world, for their own ideals/desires, or for the protection of others (such as new and old friends/love interests they acquire in this other world), but how the stories go about it are identical. I REALLY suggest watching the other if you liked one of the two.

Heroes are born for their epic adventures and breathtaking journeys. Romance, action, friendship, honor, trust, bravery and countless other codes of chivalry mark the heroes' personalities. Such is the tale of Elemental Gelade and Shining Tears X Wind. They involve two unlikely heroes who are thrust in a world under anarchy. Each is an epic journey of love and chivalry and ultimately the birth of a hero that will change the course of history.

Indeed, one can say that Elemental Gelade and Shining Tears X Wind are two sides of the same coin. Distinctively similar yet different, these two are guaranteed to be enjoyed by viewers of one and the other. So follow these heroes as they pave the way for generations to come; be it in the realm of Elemental Gelade or Shining Tears X Wind, satisfaction is sure to follow.

Zaig Zaig says...

The two anime use girls as weapons and fantasy elements. Although the fighting is plentiful, the protagonists have next to no experience in battle but gradually learn while becoming closer to the main female(s).

This group of makeshift militia and knights in armor can prove fun when the faces expressions are very happy go luck. What am finding clutch is the style relates again to Elemental Gelade and the way their powers are connecting to a secondary object be it entity even perhaps something inanimate. Should be great to watch through and perhaps once again after.

Shining Tears X Wind and Star Ocean EX are both based on RPG games. The main characters find themselves transported into another world, and must go on adventures to get rid of monsters that are attacking people, and make the world safe. The male leads are weak at first but they later improve considerably, as well.

The story of both series is about the same. The main characters are transferred to fantasy world and are involved in the war between nations with their friends on enemy's side. As the story progresses, all characters begin to change and better ungerstand each other. If you liked Shining Teras x Wind, you should definitely check out Fushigi Yugi. Due to its lenght, Fushigi Yugi is much more developed and also more romantic and that is why I think that you will find it more interesting.

Both main characters use various types of swords (protagonist from Shining Tears uses twice as many as Rave Master‘s, giving you a general idea) and go on a journey to save the world with some old and new friends. If you like these kinds of plot clichés and your fantasy adventure anime with many, many, MANY swords in it, start your next journey today.
