Tokyo Underground has great fighting and use of hidden elemental powers. Each of the main characters possess some form of special ability, which is much the same as s-CRY-ed, let alone any good fighting anime.
Both Tokyo underground and Scryed are about a battle between good and bad. They both involve special powers and people pushing themselves to the limits to help save someone.
While Scryed defies stereotype simply by excelling, surpassing the mediocrity of most action-based anime, Tokyo Underground embraces it, producing a predictable yet enjoyable series. Tokyo Underground may not have quite the following of Scryed, but it deserves a look.
Another group of empowered teens fighting against the opressive "big bad corporation". The plot that seems to dominate quite a few animes lately. But this is actually one of the few that Ihave enjoyed, good music, fresh animation, especially in the later episodes. A believeable cast of characters and a fairly well done storyline.
The stories of Scryed and Tokyo Underground is quite similar, with a typical good vs evil setup. Both series is about teenagers with mystical powers wich they learn to use to protect people near to them. Watching scryec made me think back to tokyo underground wich I had watched earlier, and the similarities are numerous. If you liked scryed, you're gonna like tokyo underground to.
Though the fights in Scryed are more intense, Tokyo Underground is not bad at all. Using the elements of nature, the characters in Tokyo Underground fight forces that want to release evil unto Earth.
These two shows (Tokyo Underground and s-CRY-ed) center around young men who go thorugh intense battles, continuously pushing themselves to levels of power above and beyond most. Kazuma and Rumina both begin with low levels of power (actually, Rumina starts with none at all) and go through so much intense fighting and strain that they increase their power tremendously. Both of them actually win an early fight in the series before being shown how weak they are. What is different, however, is the motivations for these two characters. Scryed takes a deeper look into the psyche of its characters while Tokyo Underground spends more time developing a cliche love story. Both, however, provide moments of deep emotion, intense battles with amazingly cool animation, and even occasional humor.
If you loved the whole good vs. bad with mystical powers in Scryed, theres a good chance you'll like Tokyo Underground with its similar theme.
In the not too distant future, discrimination is based not on the color of your skin, but the psychic powers you possess. The wielders of these skills (known as E's) are persecuted in the slums of Gald, but are coveted in Ashuram, a military organization dedicated to enhancing these abilities for mysterious purposes. For one man named Kai, his journey from one of Ashuram's best to one of Gald's finest will take him through the heart of a conspiracy that threatens to destroy not only all E's, but all humans on the planet as well...

Magic and people with unnatural powers? is that what you're looking for. Then you should check out E's Otherwise. It's truly a great series and it got everything you could wish for.
The comparisons between the plots of both Scryed and E-s Otherwise are many if not stupidly identical. Super powered human beings in a post-apocalyptic future. An organisation trying to bring peace to a ravaged land, but with an ulterior motive. However you're looking at Scryed being the superior of these two series.
The easiest comparison for E's Otherwise is Scryed. Both involve a schism within a group of people who have mysterious powers; both have a great mix of fast action and interesting plots.
Well, it would be stupid not to recommend E's Otherwise if you are looking for anime that are similar to s-CRY-ed, or the opposite not recommend s-CRY-ed if you liked E's. The two are very similar, but unlike other reviewers I do not find them identical. The animation style is different, the presentation is different, and even if the plot is somewhat similar I can name quite a few anime where main characters have special powers and battle with/against a might-be-evil organization.
If you enjoy watching a young man with interesting abilities go up against a corrupt organisations and other people with interesting abilities, then either of these shows should do.
In 2010, the Britannian Empire enslaved Japan using powerful mecha known as Knightmares; in the aftermath Japan was renamed Area 11, and its people began a hard and terrible existence. Lelouch, a Britannian student living in Area 11, has grown up hating the Empire and everything it stands for. One day, in the middle of a terrorist attack, Lelouch meets a mysterious girl who grants him the ability to control minds. Can he use his new power to fight for freedom, or will his hatred twist his good intentions into mindless acts of vengeance?
The main character of s-CRY-ed is very similar to Lelouch in that he is unafraid of using his power to achieve his lofty goal of overturning society. How they do this, and the ethics of exerting power over the weak is what makes both shows intriguing, especially as friends and enemies become intertwined.
In both series the main charictar fights agenst the government using special powers to protect someone they love (their sisters actually). Both series are great and fun to watch.
These two shows feature consistantly-escalating superpowers in conflict; Scryed with psychic materialization abilities, Code Geass with upgrading mecha. The main characters fight battles with long odds against overwhelmingly powerful established entities. Both Code Geass and Scryed feature over-the-top drama, lots of yelling, bitter rivalries, explosions, plot twist after plot twist, warped facial expressions, tragic character deaths and sacrifices, and bombastic musical scores that keep the blood pumping. If can find something absurd yet cool and entertaining at the same time, you'll be right at home with either of these anime.
As a bonus, Code Geass and Scryed share the same animation studio (Sunrise), director (Goro Taniguichi), and significant portions of their English dub casts.
the main characters in the shows were fighting for the same things. also about gaining controll over a certain area that's being controlled by idiots.
In the distant future many things have changed. Worlds are colonized and people travel the stars freely. The GOTT (Galactic Organization of Trades and Tarifs) exists to maintain order and peace along the galaxies. Enter two ES members. Eclair and Lumiere. They are sent on missions to keep the universal peace, under the flag of GOTT. But soon they come to realize that there is more going on behind the scenes than they previously imagined...

First things first: Kiddy Grade is more epic while Scryed is more action-packed. Yet both are about the struggle to survive in a world that is out to get you. With a battle between (somewhat similar) superpowers unfolding, the story in each will take a complete twist halfway through, making things very interesting.
While Scryed and Kiddy Grade might seem to be worlds apart, both are fanastic series about people with super powers, and questions of whether or not they are being exploited. Scryed definitely has more of an action feel (with no fanservice), whereas Kiddy Grade is a space epic. Nonetheless, I think you'd enjoy both.
Besides the similarities in visuals, Kiddy Grade and s-CRY-ed have many other points of endearment. Like the fact that both anime are about super-powered teens. Also, both anime are more action-based then story-based, meaning that these anime are more for those times when you're in the mood for some explosions ;). However, there are parts in both series when something happens that causes you think about human nature and morality. So if you're in the mood for a lot of action and don't require that deep of a storyline then these anime are for you.
Recca dreams of one day becoming an excellent ninja, but in this day and age ninjas are only talked about in history lessons. While playing his ninja games, he meets a mysterious woman that reveals to Recca his past, his bond with the powerful Hokage clan, and the special flame power that resides within him. Meanwhile, the evil Kurei has plans to gather the madougu from the Hokage clan so that he may take control over the elemental powers, but Recca is determined to master his flame and stop Kurei’s evil plans. Does he have what it takes to live up to his own expectations and put a stop to Kurei himself?
Flame of Recca is one of the best fighting anime series of all time. If you liked s-CRY-ed and all of the special abilities of the characters, you'll love Flame of Recca and all the elemental weapons.
Flame of recca is similar to scryed in that the characters are teenagers with mystical powers and they use them to fight the ones threathening thier loved ones. They all train and improve troughout the series after beeing shown they are weak. Flame of recca is a good alternative if you want more action like scryed.
If you loved the whole good vs. bad with mystical powers in Scryed, there's a good chance you'll like this with its similar themes.
Five years have passed since Goku and his friends defeated Piccolo Jr. and restored peace to the planet. Gohan - Goku's son - and a variety of good, bad, and morally ambiguous characters are back, and perpetually not ready for action! Aliens, androids, and magicians all hatch evil plots to destroy the world and it's up to Goku to save the Earth once more - that is, once he and his comrades train plentifully in preparation. Enemies will become friends and power levels will rise to unimaginable levels, but even with the help of the legendary Dragon Balls and Shen Long will it be enough to save Earth from ultimate destruction?

Although Scryed has a lot more depth, it does share a certain fighting atmosphere with Dragonball Z - both series are about fighters with fantastic fighting skills, and both have rivals seeking to increase their power in order to defeat each other. I recommend DBZ over the original Dragonball, because DBZ is more fighting oriented as opposed to Dragonball's more abundant humour.
Scryed didn't remind me all that much of DBZ except for the last very powerful fights. So if you liked those, I'd give DBZ a shot.
Both Dragon Ball Z and Scryed have some heavily super powered people, but what I found incredibly similar was the rivalry between the two main characters. The characters have a love/hate relationship which pushes their abilities to their max.
Gawl, Koji and Ryo may seem like ordinary exchange students, but in reality they're anything but normal. The trio has travelled into the past to stop dangerous genetic research from being completed – research that has terrible consequences in the future – and Gawl, a boy with the ability to morph into a powerful creature, may be their best hope in succeeding. Now, between trying to hide their secret from the nosy daughter of their landlord and attending classes at Oju Academy, the boys must race against the clock to complete their mission at any cost.

Generate to a monster? Just like Scryed people generate into monsters. The main char Gawl gains the same powers as Kazuma and I think these two series got the same style. Humoristic, cute and serious at the same time. I really think you should watch Generator Gawl if you liked Scryed.
Generator Gawl and Scryed has lots of things in common, like superpowers and great action without losing the story wich many of animes of this kind can do. While the fights in scryed might impress more, so does the story for Generator Gawl. Both great series andif you like one, you'll most likely enjoy the other one.
The badass nature of Kazuma and Gawl are very similar. Both are people who have acquired serious ass-kicking abilities.. with a bit of attitude. Both series are action packed and will keep you on your toes. Scryed is a bit more super-power-y while Generator Gawl tends to lean towards mecha.
In the land of Kuruda, warriors with magical powers and incredible fighting skills battle for the ultimate prize: the title of Sevaar, the strongest warrior in the land. Elle Ragu, nicknamed Shadow Skill, is the newest Sevaar to emerge, but that doesn't make her life any easier. Teaching her "little brother," Gau, how to be a warrior, fending off assassins from other kingdoms and thwarting enemy invasions is hard enough, but her biggest challenge will be paying off her drinking debts!

The most obvious similarity between Shadow Skill and Scryed is the non-stopp, always all out, crazy superpower action. While scryed features unnatural powers wich thr characters are born with, shadow skill is about power achieved through lots and lots of training. Both series shows a wide array of emotions, such as the happiness of friendship or the frustration of being inferior. If you enjoyed shadow skill and want more action-packed anime, go watch scryed right now.
Shadow Skill TV and Scryed are very good recommendations for each other... not only because of the action-packed superpower craziness, but for the character development, and interjections of comedy in between. Scryed is definitely a bit more supernatural/unusual in nature than the mostly martial-arts based Shadow Skill, but I can't see why you wouldn't like one if you liked the other.
Pure action and not so much character development is the theme of Shadow Skill and Scryed. Senseless fighting for one cause or another, enemies everywhere, opressed people who need help against a greater force, and mystic powers that are constantly honed to become even greater... THAT is what these two series are mainly all about.
Yusuke Urameshi was a normal middle school punk until he was hit and killed by a car, while saving a child. His selfless action earned him the right to gain his life back and serve as a detective of the spirit world, keeping the world of the living safe from a myriad of demons. But being reborn has its price: Yusuke must hatch a spirit beast that will develop according to his actions, and if he doesn't act in a good and honest manner, it will eat his soul. Can Yusuke protect the human and spirit worlds and still manage to save himself in the process?

The similarities between Yu Yu Hakusho and s-CRY-ed are unavoidable. In both series the main character is a badass with unnatural powers that does things on his own terms and is accompanied by companions that help him throughout. Also, in both animes the main characters do everything in the their power to protect those close to them. So even though Yu Yu Hakasho is 86 episodes longer then s-CRY-ed, for fans of great action scenes, nice artwork and a decent story both animes are a must.
YuYu Hakausho also has those moments where his powers are not enough becuse he doesn't know he has great power or understand the propertys and possabilitys of what he alredy has. Then like Scryed show, he understands his powers and can use them to there fullest. BUT. unlike YuYu Hakausho, Scryed has a darker tone and an epic novel feel to it
Both YYH and Scryed have fast paced fight scenes, intriguing backstories and good characterization with plausible character development that causes you to become very connected to the characters. Both have a solid world building that helpss the plot move along at a vry breakneck pace, while also seeming like you're not even nearing that end all at once.
Gene Starwind and Jim Hawking make a living on various jobs and bounties. While waiting for their ticket to hit it big time, a mysterious woman named Hilda leaves them with a key to the puzzle of finding a starship of great power, known only as the Outlaw Star. What are these long lost spaceships and what is the Galactic Leyline?
I've noticed that Scryed and Outlaw Star often appeal to the same people. Maybe it's the somewhat similar main characters, but it could also be the story progression: adventure and fighting is the focus, and only later does the story become clear. If you liked one, you'd like the other as well.
both animes involve some people who have some powers, and they fight to survive as they adventure
If you liked one then you'll like the other because both feature the kind of heroe who doesn't think things over before going into a fight and while in the beginning the heroe only wants to try to get by in life by doing whatever odd jobs come their way they in the end end up playing a much larger role in the final fight.
