Winning a game of Mahjong is hard; getting the same score every time is practically impossible. So imagine the surprise of the school Mahjong club when Saki Miyanaga walks in and does just that. Despite her dislike for the game, her talent is obvious and it's up to the club members - the top-heavy Nodoka, the energetic Yuuki, the cunning Mako and the...

These anime have a lot of common. Revolving around girls playing a ''sport'' together competitively. The same lesbian subtext can be found in both anime with girls getting blatantly coupled, blushing and having skinship quite a bit. The couples relationships being almost always very close. Both anime enduldge themselves in quite a bit of fanservice with onsen episodes and as well as sexually tinted dialogue. Of course the sports are very different but both anime feature "superpowered" moves of sort making them feel similar. While Scorching certainly has an artstyle that will take getting used to in comparison to Saki's more mainstream style.

Really very similar, and both pretty good. Surprised no one has made this recommendation yet. Cute girls sweating a lot while hitting balls over a net with lots of yuri subtext. Also both shows have very distinct couples rather than a mass of possible pairings that all sort of work. You basically know from the opening credits of both shows which characters are paired together.
Also both shows do a good job with the sports anime tournament thing, they both have a good degree of tension and detail that makes these kind of shows work.
