If you liked School Days, you'd also like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni because they both have a school environment setting. Also, both main characters (Makoto and Maebara) have problems dealing with relationships. They also don't undergo an epiphany, but these two series are a thrill to watch.

School Days awoke my thirst for twisted stories and Higurashi satisfied it. If you like the ending of School Days you will surely like Higurashi's story.

Intrigued by cute characters doing terrible things? Enjoy watching people break? School Days and Higurashi have similar atmosphere filled with darkness and despair.

Myself;Yourself and School Days both have "Nice Boat" endings, lies, deceit, incest, blood, and secrets. So much happens in these series that you are left wanting more. The overly happy mood in the early episodes of each series really does foreshadow the darker things to come. Will the anime end with your favorite lead character dead?

vick01 vick01 says

Both of the series story lines revolve around the characters having serious problems and secrets. Both of the series have a more mature theme to them and contains blood in the series. However, both of the series are done in a way where you get attached to the characters and get you get sucked into the story lines. both of theses series will leave you wanting more when the conclude, you will enjoy one if you liked the other.

Sheex Sheex says

Myself; Yourself de-emphasizes the romantic focus present in School Days, but still manages to touch upon similar themes. Each presents an apparantly innocent, sugar-coated view of youth, but follows shortly with a dark, sinister breakdown of these ideas as nothing more than fantasy. With both packed full of bleak, ominous drama, it'd you watch one be sure to check out the other.

If you totally enjoyed the last episode of School Days, then Elfen Lied is definitely a title for you. The twisted graphics of gore are very similar, except there's more of it in Elfen Lied. On the other hand both of these titles have really soft areas which help define the series. I'm sure if you enjoyed one of these, the other wouldn't be a waste of time.

School Days and Elfen Lied are very similar. When I first started watching School Days I figured it would be another funny school-type comedy series, but it's definitely more like Elfen Lied. You should prepare yourself emotionally before you start to watch these, honestly!

School Days and Elfen Lied are very much alike in the terms of geting to know the charaters . In both series theay have realy manage to express what theay are feeling inside. You can realy see what the characters are going thew. Also these series isn't something you'll forget in the first time becouse theay are so touching.

Theay have realy manage to show the emotions, who I think is the best part of all anime. And it's the reason why I love anime so much.

Side of that if you'll find it intresting to see one of these: I strongly recomend to have something to wipe your tears whit. :P
