Both of these animes have someone taking care of another. They're both beautiful animes about friendship and family! Both of the main characters are responsible and hard working, and that another thing that makes these anime alike. 

Both animes feature children coming to terms with the death of a parent. They also have the same sweet family feeling of being looked after by a guardian. Both are family friendly.

They are both adorable, bittersweet at some moments, and give you this warm feeling after you've finished. I highly recommend both.
