In the distant future, humankind lives shoulder-to-shoulder in a cramped "Colony" divided by bedrock. Outside the colony extends a dangerous undeveloped area known as "The Labyrinth." Those who risk their lives to explore the Labyrinth and mark undeveloped areas are known as "Markers." Memempu is a young girl who wants to become a Marker, and Gagumber is a man who quit being a Marker. This rag-tag father and daughter team are about to take on the Labyrinth! "If there is no path, then dig one!"
This one started out great and was a fun little adventure with a hint of mystery... for the first 3 episodes. Then it took a massive nosedive around that time, with each new episode becoming more and more lackluster and thin on substance and excitement. Semi-random episodic plotlines that would be more suitable for a Hollywood movie, (new) characters getting progressively more annoying, characters' actions making little sense, fake tension/plot conveniences everywhere, jarring tonal shifts... This had the potential to become something memorable and they wasted it big time. What a bummer.
Everything good that happens in this series happens in the first few episodes. The potential was there. The only interesting point beyond that was the mystery behind her dreams. These characters never grow. Things happen to them for the sake of the story, but these things don't change them. When a character goes through an experience you tend to expect them to learn something from it and grow as a person. This anime doesn't do that. Ever. The characters are the same all the way to the end. To me this made it hard to watch, and in the end dropped it on the final episode. I imagine that some people aren't bothered by the lack of character development. For those people, definitely give this a watch. You will no doubt like the stuff with her dreams and the antagonists they meet later on.
ill be quick with this one, and its for many reasons but ill narrow it down too one, the show isnt enjoyable to watch. it started of pretty good but fell off with sidetrack after sidetrack. the story isnt bad but they never explore it only mention it just to remind you "hey we have a real story" then prances off to that episodes whatever adventure. the animation isnt bad sounds is meh and the characters are that bad but hearing the same two names that sounds so annoying being yelled 20 times in 5 minutes gets on your nerves quick. also the girl is 9 years old and yeah i know its an anime but i can only go so far. you guys remember yourselves when you were 9? yeah point made. all in all the show isnt worth your time there is much better to watch
