An all-girl's school is preparing to consolidate with another nearby school, which will make them co-ed. Uryuu Shingo is chosen to be a male 'test student' at the girl's school before they officially merge in the following year. Though there was initially some opposition by the female student body, many of them have grown to like Shingo. His greatest opposition, Sena Airi, has even gotten used to him. However, the heroine of this story, Inui Sana, still hates all men in general and Shingo in specific. But could her blatant dislike be masking some other, truer feelings?

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate follows the protagonist Yuuki Oojima, who attends Private Takafuji Academy, a large school with over 6,000 students. Yuuki is a member of the food research club, along with seven others, including his childhood friend Chisato Sumiyoshi. The members leisurely spend their time in the club not doing much activities. When the election of the next student council president comes up, the front runner Satsuki Shinonome proposes that clubs that have no merit should be sorted out and abolished. The food research club seeks advice from the current student council president Yakumo Mori, who suggests Yuuki run in the election as an opposing candidate. Yuuki learns about the issues facing the school and decides to run in the election.

Tokino can’t take her eyes off their beautiful upper classmates either, and as Chiharu and Tokino observe the couple together, their own sweet relationship begins!

Gossips around town spoke of a Folklore called 'Kudan'. It is said that Kudan takes the form of a woman wearing Western mourning dress. Through strange coincidence, 16-year-old Kudan Sakuya meets cooking class instructor Shima Touko. As they come in contact with each other, faint feelings grow between the two. However, as Touko happened to come across the fearful Kudan, her peaceful everyday life came to an end. Sakuya tries her best to protect her and attempts to find countermeasures. At Kudan Girls High School, there's a club that focuses on studying folklore. Together with the Mystery Research Club president, Akinashi Koto, Sakuya will take on the unknown Folklore to protect her loved one.

The Earth has finally run out of oil, and society is undergoing a huge shift as it migrates away from its dependence on fossil fuels. People now get their electricity from solar and wind, and use as little of they're able to produce as possible - meaning a life without automobiles or flashy neon signs. An elderly person who lives on the coast where a nuclear power plant once was became resentful upon recalling how well-off Japan was at the time... until being moved to tears after noticing the beautiful star-filled sky that never could have been seen back then.
