I watched this anime because I read a review that sparked my interest in it. And, even though it's rated quite poorly, I must say that it isn't a bad watch. 

Obviously it's ecchi and there's plenty of sexual innuendoes and stuff, but if that doesn't bother you, it's quite funny. I'm not saying it's a good anime or one that I would recommend for any reason at all, but - given its genre - it isn't half as bad as you might think it is. So it was kind of surprising. Actually, it's the premise that's absolutely crazy and perverted, but apart from that the characters - except Hiyori - act and react quite normally.

Plotwise, there's the premise I mentioned before that sets things in motion and after that it's kind of a chain reaction whereby the protagonist, Mitsuki, has to deal with all these weird and embarassing situations and, being a shy and introvert girl, she's completely out of her depth and misunderstood at every turn. 

Okay I am going to make this review short (kind of). This anime sucked balls (litterally). I am not a fan of this type of genre (the forbidden love kind/incest).

You are probably wondering to yourself; 'Then why did you even watch it to begin with?'. That is a good question. I was mainly interested in the chasity belt as it is a topic you rarely see or hear about in anime.

Story:

Focuses on 2 main characters (Mitsuki and Yuuya) that become step siblings after their parents get married. Mitsuki is cautious with this new relationship, one day on her way home, she encounters a ghost with amnesia named Hiyori. Hiyori forcefully places a chasity belt on Mitsuki, which can only be removed once the heart gauge on the belt is filled by experencing certain sexual pleasures and energy from her 'big brother' (Yuuya).

Wesker: (Vomits in the corner, wipes his mouth, walks back to his PC and continues his review)

Both main characters are not related. Yuuya tries to get close, but Mitsuki keeps her distance.

One day, Mitsuki encounters a ghost (Hiyori), that does not say anything to her but posesses Mitsuki and makes her go into a "contract" which she does not agree to and is forced to do these sexual advances towards Yuuya in order to save her life and grant Hiyori's wish. All the while Mitsuki gets humiliated, due to constantly pissing her pants (1x attempting to pee in a flower vase) and having almost everyone she encounters see her chasity belt.

To me, I picture it like this:

Hiyori has a gun pointed at the back of Mitsuki's head and if she does not do exactly as Hiyori says, she will kill her. Hiyori demands for Mitsuki to have sexy time with Yuuya, while Hiyori watches and pleasures herself from it, then promises to spare her life and never come back after that. Afterwards, Mitsuki would possibly be feeling humliated and depressed which would later lead her to committing suicide.

Animation:

There were quiet a few times, where the animation was poorly done (ep. 8). Most of the good animation was in the OP. The ED on the other hand, was a disaster. Why the hell would you go for (Hiyori) in a mascot outfit instead of just having her look like a normal high schooler?

Sound:

I really didn't care for it. The OP was okay, but the ED was awful.

Characters:

The character development was bad.

Yuuya is dumb as dog s#!t, sticks his nose where it doesn't belong and constantly invades Mitsuki's personal space.

Hiyori is absolutely annoying, as she forces Mitsuki to do all of these sexual advances to Yuuya, when she clearly does not want to. Not to mention, she constantly forgets to mention things beforehand and only after something happens then she mentions it.

Example:

- If the heart gauge goes down to zero, not only will Hiyori die, but Mitsuki as well.

- The chasity belt can only remain open for 3 minutes and won't reopen for 1 hour. 

Miitsuki keeps her distance from Yuuya, but is forced to get close to him by Hiyori.

The other characters were okay.

Overall:

Recently, My Little Sister Is Unusual not an anime I would recommend to anyone. The story is unique, but the way it was done was poorly setup. 

The only thing that was enjoyable was after the END credits of episode 6, they did a Metal Gear Solid parody/reference. Which was pure LOL.

You know, I see how bad the stars are for this one and I can't help but say that those aren't really true to how this show should be rated. Yeah, the only reason I watched this was because I was desperate for anime's, but after I did I was actually really glad I watched it. It was funny and weird, a bit on the sexual side but to be hoenst it didn't bother me like I thought it would. I ususally hate ecchi anime's but for some reason this show interested me enough to at least try it, and sure enough I was laughing at how ridiculously misunderstood the main character becomes to the people around her. I'm a female and I liked this show, so I'm sure once you get passed all the crazy stuff, you will also find yourself loving all the weirdness about it. 

I have to write my first review, because this anime definitely did not deserve 1/10 (even 4.4/10 avg).

Keep in mind every production should be consider in terms of posibilities of it's genre. It's ecchi and we got step-sister-brother school/everyday life setting. And we got chastity belt! Quite an orginal idea and looks like a lot of fun. First half of series is really is interesting, and promising. We got non-schematic situations form school/home maintained in slice of life/slow-paced (over comedy) convention. Whats great about it, director decided keep story in one piece, not like on other echhi comedy where we got random, not ryly realted episodes. Action breaks in one episode and continue in next in exactly the same place. It's very engaging!
Unfortunately second half is end of ideas.. pool, date, onsen apear on stage.. and become litle boring.
Therefore story drops down to 6/10.

Animation is decent like for ecchi. and in few moments we got wide shots with much details. Sound is quite decent too, nothing memorable(like in DearS <3) but no lacks in this matter.

Main characters are very likable and „normal”. Mayby not super depth but realistic with theirs concerns, thoughts (not focus on one extreme). We got warm-heart type „onesan” Yukina (<3 why those types of character never are main with happy end?), free spirit Hiyori and big wow! first of all series i've watched, i saw likeable tsundere! For real Mitsuki is not annoying tsundere like in ore imouto ga konnani kawaii wake ga nai, toradora or zero no tsukaima etc.. actualy she is similar to kuroneko.

Summing up it's not that exreame and funny like kiss x sis or ore imouto ga konnani kawaii wake ga nai, but if you like those two, u should definitly try this one.
