Rave Master - Reviews

I haven't been watching animes for a long time but I can tell that there are some common story-types, Groove Adventure Rave/Rave Master for example fits into the "Time to find some creepy, ancient mystical stones/creepy, ancient weird items" category. Other animes in this category include: Dragon Ball, Power Stone and -(insert drumroll)- POKEMON!

Story wasn't that original, animation was fairly good considering it came out over a decade ago, sound again fairly good and the characters were well developed; furthermore I noticed that it was distracting that the character appearances were pretty much the same with the famous  Fairy Tail anime's characters except for colour and behavour. Ofcouse if you watch this anime first then Fairy Tail I presume it would be the other way around.

Going back, you've probably heard this before, I have to give a 10/10 for randomness just because you can't find find a carrot nosed 'bug' in every anime.....

I might have been harsh but thats my opinion, have a good time watching if you decide so.

  After watching Fairy Tail, I want to watch Rave Master because of the OVA crossover. The character are pretty well write to be honest. The story just end in an awkard. I want the story to continue because it had an unquie feel that people should really watch. I now want to read the manga and see just how good it is. I serious wish they continued the anime.

SIC series no.1 (Sorry I Can’t!)

Episodes tolerated: 7/51 and some spare pickings from later episodes just to confirm some stuff

Its a typical random worthless shounen. Story is vague, story telling is awful, pacing is garbage. It has this old school randomness going on, you know, stuff happen for the sake of happening, because… reasons. Action is nowhere to be found, when it is finally found, it is terrible, it drags on without anything happening. I mean, it’s the worst work of a creator who’s best work is Fairytail, what more do you wanna hear? I just gave it a shot cause when my mind is too busy with other stuff, I need my anime to be simply enjoyable without making me think too much, so an average shounen (let’s say like black clover or MHA) works fine for me at times, even though I know it’s not great, it’s what I can and want to watch eventually. But this is not an average shounen, it’s unbearable. And it’s not just the story, which story by the way never goes anywhere even if for some reason (or serious mental illness) you decide to sit through all 51 episodes, you don’t even get an ending. The world building could be good, there are some ideas and interesting areas shown, but ultimately they are blunt and not explored or explained at the slightest. Everything is random and uncool, exactly what you'd expect from a show that is called Groove Adventure Rave. How the fuck can you come up with that title? How the actual fuck can you write that title down, and the think to yourself: "fuck yeah man, now that title is a keeper, it's gonna be a hit". Sharing is caring man, just sayin... 

Characters are basic, uninteresting, boring, generic, typical, and not cool at the slightest. The slightest hint of progression that can find, the show makes sure that is shattered to pieces, since the romance between Haru and Elie is blantantly obvious from the opening episode. For what it's worth, the first episode holds some value as a prime example of randomness.

Their design is also generic and boring, even more generic and boring than fairytail’s (yes that can happen apparently). On top of the boring and uninteresting art style, animation is not even mediocre for its time.

The only aspect of the show that is not terrible is the sound. It’s not great or anything, at least it’s salvageable. Tracks were ok, the opening was ok and the voice acting was good even though the dialogues are terrible. Mad props to the voice actors that manage to speak those terrible lines.

I do not recommend this show to anyone, no matter the state of mind, no matter the age, go find a nice freshly painted wall and watch it as the paint dries. That’s probably a better allocation of your free time than watching this.

Rave master

The work of Hiro Mashima before taking on Fairy Tail as a new project. I don't know the manga by Rave Master, so I just have to focus on the anime.

With the third work by Hiro Mashima, I'm already used to the fact that he not only takes over the design of many characters 1: 1, but also their personalities and all the mistakes. Rave Master was, as far as I understood, his first work and with it, his questionable story took its course.

Rave Master has a subtle approach to plot and background. And here I am already at the end of my positive words and cannot say anything more about it.

The characters had next to nothing in the work. In that sense, it didn't matter that the series became more and more sluggish, monotonous, and uninteresting in the course of the episodes, as there was hardly any loss anyway. The character relationships were negligible and the comedy deposits were even worse than expected. At the very least, I have to admit that the characters seemed a little smarter here than they did in Fairy Tail.

How far-reaching the plot is in the end, I can't say because the work was canceled from episode 51 onwards. Right where the events apparently went through a major change.

Particularly negative in the work was the atmosphere, the music, and the fights. Most of the really important scenes were barely supported by music and appeared completely empty. The fights have been even worse than at Fairy Tail. Not much has been said about the power of friendship. However, they were immensely monotonous and even less dynamic.

In conclusion, this anime is empty, very empty. He is the definition of empty. There was almost no life in it. It seemed to me as if he had some idea and immediately sat down and lost his ingenuity in the middle and somehow carried on. It may be better in the manga, but the anime is a whole different story.

there is one word that i think can disscribe this anime perfectly..... strange

weather its random screaming or a dog with a carrot nose this anime is one of the randomest :3
