Kagome is a normal high school girl who falls into a well, transporting her back in time to the feudal era. Upon her arrival to this world, she mercifully unleashes Inuyasha, a half demon. As if this isn't enough, she also discovers that she is the bearer of the Shikon no Tama, a jewel of great spiritual power, a jewel which has just shattered into a million...

If you want more Rumiko Takahashi goodness, take a look at Inuyasha. Being a little bit more serious, this series has a developing story and features the same excellent seiyuu work you know from Ranma 1/2.
Although the animation and the humor are a little more modern, the first thing I thought when I saw the first episode of Inuyasha was "RANMA!". So, if nothing else, it will remind you of Ranma at first, but InuYasha is a VERY good epic story.
more from rumiko takahashi, with the same compelling and akward romance, does however get a bit long (just find naraku already!)
Tohru Honda is a compassionate girl who is down on her luck. Her mother having recently died, she has been forced to camp out in the woods for shelter. However, things start to turn around once she is invited to live with class hunk Yuki Sohma and his family... but all is not as it seems! Yuki's family is burdened with a dark curse which causes them to turn...

Humans become animals and really funny stuff happens; and of course, there is some background romance. No, I'm actually talking about Fruits Basket, not Ranma--but the elements are all the same. If you liked one of these anime, definitely check out the other.
Both series feature humorous love triangles with humans changing into animals and other things. In Ranma's case, with a splash of cold water, you have a boy that can change into a girl, a girl that changes into a cat, and another boy that changes into a cute black pig. There are many other characters that change as well, but you would have to watch the series to find out ;) Both Ranma and Fruits Basket have extensive love triangles and plenty of situational comedy. Ranma is a tad more mature with the gratuitous female nudity and also a good deal of martial art fighting storylines, while Fruit Baskets is more relationship driven. Neither have a lack of humor, that's for sure.
Fruits Basket and Ranma 1/2 are both anime with characters who change into animals. Also, Tohru Honda and Ranma have histories that allow them to intermingle with the world around them.
Tenma Tsukamoto is young, bright, and smitten with the school hottie Oji Karasuma. She's desperate for his attention, which is unfortunate considering he barely gives her the time of day! Throw Kenji Harima, the school delinquent with a crush on Tenma into the mix and you've got one twisted love triangle of unrequited proportions! Can love find the trio...

School Rumble and Ranma 1/2 both have money-back-guarantees to keep you intoxicated with humor and screaming with splits of laughter, even though Ranma 1/2 is more fictional.
If you liked Ranma 1/2 then you'll enjoy this one as well because they both revolve around the silly/light-hearted romance theme and they both make you laugh. Both are romantic comedies and have very endearing characters.
got the same feeling when i started watching School Rumble.. Both animes have hilarious stories and characters... I like School Rumble more but if you like Ranma you should checkout School Rumble. A must watch if you're looking a comedy anime.
