Both of these anime feature young girls who have the ability to become magical girls. When evil and heartbreak threaten the world, these girls fight to stop it. Both anime are really good at showcasing the insecurities of the girls because even magical girls have feelings.

Madoka magica is dark. So is another. Another is a horror that will bring more despair into your mind. Watch how the new student ends up in class 3 . He is doomed to find out who is dead and save the living from death. Sead dead back to death.

Sasami-san@Ganbaranai

Sasami-san@Ganbaranai

Sasami is a lazy hikikomori who'd rather be playing video games and sleeping than being a productive member of society, especially with a doting brother who waits on her hand and foot. But there's more than Sasami and her family than meet the eye – in reality, they are connected to the goddess Amaterasu and mysterious 'alterations' that occasionally change and threaten the world. With the help of three sisters, Sasami slowly tackles day to day challenges and puts a stop to alterations – and monsters – when they appear.

Two shows very similar in their apparent slice of life and school life appearance, but  harboring a more dark and depressing psychological narrative. Furthermore, the action scenes in both shows are very similar in being over the top and flashy. Both shows are also SHAFT shows, so eccentric art and animation style are there too.

There is only one major difference in that Sasami-san has a much greater part of its content devoted to comedy. This has the result that the tone of both shows is somewhat different too.

Both start cute and optimistic, both become sad and depressing after a few episdoes. Bear in mind that SaiKano is thousand times more depressing than Madoka.

Both shows mix teenage girls, magical elements, city environments, and a dark tone. The main characters are also similar, in that they have a lot of insecurities that they need to overcome. Friendships between girls are important in both shows.

What if? What is we look from a new point of view? Both Puebla Magi Madoka Magica and Black Bullet share that question in common. I love both of these Anime's. They are both dark with amazing plot twists. Watched them to find out the depression the characters go through and what they do to try and change fate! If you love Puella Magi Madoka Magica, then you will love Black Bullet!

Matoi is like a happier, more generic form of Madoka.

Both have magical girls trying to save the world from monsters. Both have a pink-haired main character who is hesitant about her power with a blue-haired bestie who is way more enthusiastic. Wishes also play a role in both.
