In a world where various factions are at war with each other, a new piloted mecha, with guns that are connected to the central nervous system, is being developed by the International Military Organization. Because of his knowledge of piloting mecha, 17-year-old Yu Kananase is recruited by the 18th Reserve Squadron to be a test pilot; and thus his new life begins. Together with his comrades Eric, Nanna, and Nell, Yu must discover the truth about his past and the meaning of life, while trying to return from each battlefield alive.
