Acchi Kocchi is an adorable anime. I love it a lot. It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside the whole time I was watching it, and i love the characters and they're personalities.

This is a very good anime for people new to it, and I highly reccommend it if you haven't watched it.

First Impressions

Considering my artwork is a recolored version of one of the characters, you can probably assume that I enjoyed the show. And, that's fairly right. The show is something I can certainly call 'Good', even if it isn't ground breaking in any aspects. It's simply fun to watch, and can get a few laughs out of you. Which, to me, is perfectly great. I wouldn't say it has any glaring flaws, just a few minor imperfections that are there, but don't really matter too much in the long run.

Story

This show doesn't really run off of a running plotline, and it's more like one shot scenes that tie together. In the manga, usually you'd have an entire scene contained within one or two pages, then a new scene would begin immediately afterwards within the same setting.

It's mostly a slice of life roman-comedy, which should give you a general idea of if you'll like it or not already. Our Main character, Tsumiki, chases after Io and deals with both her quiet nature, and the presence of her other friends.

Aside from that, most episodes are split into 2 different settings to work with. From things like an Ice skating rink, to a train station, to just an afterschool game.

Animation

It's a slice of life anime. And as far as slice of life goes, the animation is perfectly sufficient. The colors look good, every character is distinctive from eachother, and it just works. Nothing ever comes across as particularly breathtaking, but there is a sence that the animator's most certainly are good at their jobs. They can do overthe top as well as they can do delicate motions. It's just satisfactory with nothing else to really report about it.

Sound

Sound is easily one of the best aspects about this show. Both the soundscape and the music are incredible. The music can be whimsical, high energy, or even slightly dissapointed at times too. It fits incredibly well with the pace of the show. The sound effects are very sudden and clear, which makes them work well for the show's fast paced nature. Overall, it's just very pleasent to listen to.

Voice work is what you'd probably expect bubbly, and overall just has an air of charm to it that can be a little sickly sweet. However, the voice work is nailed perfectly by all the actors, and the delivery of certain lines are solid.

Characters

Each character comes off as having a certain trait, and sticking with it. Nobody develops past that point, so it's surprising that this show does a great job of even keeping their characters interesting for as long as they do. Part of this is that each character type bounces off of eachother fantastically, to a point that even though you know how each character will behave, it's still fun to see play out.

Tsumiki is basically a Tsundere in all aspects. She has a very obvious Crush on Io, and she's almost constantly the target of teasing in these aspects. Otherwise, she's fairly quiet, and can be a bit violent too when her emotions run high. Nothing hard to watch, just your typical flash and cartoony head bulge afterwards. Though, sometimes you get to see more interesting things. It's just fun to watch her flustered most of the time. Or fun to see her just use unexplained super strength to beat Mayoi over the head.

She also has a slightly more playful or swooned nature that can be distinguished by the fact that she suddenly has cat ears. It's never explained, by the way. But that's part of the charm in it, I think.

Io is basically your prince charming. At face value, that's all there is to him, but part of what makes him fun is that he's so dense to Tsumiki's obvious affections, that both the confusion on his part and the frustration on her part can be fairly easy comedy. He also does charming things almost subconsciously to the point of nearly knocking out any girl in the vicinity from nosebleeds.

Mayoi seems at first to just be your typical inventor kid trope, but she's usually always up to mischief and goading Tsumiki on. Usually also makes her a punching bag. With her, it's never a dull moment to see what she has up her sleeve. Especially considering how competitive she's portrayed as.

Himechi is basically the girl that reacts to cute stuff. However, she's also sort of the person who has her priorities in order and sees how ridiculous some of the things the other characters get into are. She's not physically fit, or super charming or anything like that. And at most points, she's the most sensitive character there. She's also a bit of a nosebleed engine for whenever something charming happens.

Sakaki is basically the bro best friend character to Io. Aside from having a generally positive outlook to things, he also happens to have a competitive spirit that clashes well with Mayoi. He's also a walking example of Murphy's law, being a magnet for pain and bad luck. While most jokes with him being punished by terrible luck are obvious, sometimes it's just fun to see how extreme circumstances will go to beat him up.

Conclusion

If nothing else, this show is just fun to watch. It's very simple, and has simple themes. If that's not your thing, you might not have much fun with it. I certainly did, and it got a few laughs out of me too. I'd suggest you check it out, maybe from episode 2 as your first look. There is only one real moment where continuity is really involved, and those are the valentine's day episodes. Other than that, there's not much to really mention as far as continuity goes. So you can watch it in almost any order you'd like.

A cute anime that is decently funny, although definitely more cute than funny. I wouldn't say it is much on the romance department, as nothing in there really happens in any form of depth. The art style used makes most characters look really young, including the teacher, but they are in high school. Given the description on the Anime, I would say it felt rather inconclusive.

Each episode consists of 2 stories, or sometimes the first one continues on into part B. The timeline of the Anime takes place over various events that spread out across 1 year. You get most of the standard scenarios such as a school festival, Christmas and New Years, and so on. Since it is an episode based comedy, there isn't anything in terms of a connective story. There are a few scenes that reference back to a previous episode, but that's it.

The primary cast you see are a relatively small and close-knit group of friends. Each brings their own personality to the group, although there is some overlap between them. Tsumiki is the cute iconic character that is given some extra attention. She exhibits some interesting behavior and they have made her out to be cat-like, and not in the standard way, but with a bit more depth and personality. Combined with her appearance, she is the one character that would stick to your mind.

Other than that, there isn't a whole lot to say. It's a cutesy, comedy based Anime that goes episode to episode with the standard daily life routine. It's relaxing and not serious.

Overall, I liked it, although the comedy was kind of clustered or possibly just  more hit and miss. I didn't find the start all that funny, and the middle of the Anime is where it was most funny for me. The romance portion just wasn't there for me. It was very cute, and if you like cuteness, it is definitely worth watching it for Tsumiki.

When I was talking about anime with a friend on Steam, he brought up the anime Acchi Kocchi. He recommended it for various reasons, the tsundere heroine being the main one. And with that, I sat back and got myself ready to watch some rom-com, even if I did have a bit of trouble to start off.

Story

There isn't really much of a story for Acchi Kocchi. The heroine, Tsumiki, is in love with a guy called Io, but can't spit it out. Io is oblivious to her feelings. That's pretty much all there is to it.

As far as this anime goes, it's a rom-com slice of life, and I personally don't do well with slice of life anime. I find them to be somewhat slow and difficult to concentrate on.

The major highlight, besides the interesting relationship Tsumiki and Io have, is by far the comedy. Every episode had me laughing several times, even when I was in a terrible mood, and the supporting characters are often the source of this, whether it be Mayoi's crazy inventions or Sakaki's games.

Animation

The animation in this show seemed smooth and well done, especially regarding the games in the earlier episodes. Acchi Kocchi made Kick the Can unepectedly awesome; however, outside of the over-the-top games, there was nothing really special about the animation, at least not to me. It at least reaches the current animation status.

Sound

The BGMs for me were nothing too notable, but the opening will get stuck in your head if you listen to it too long; it's energetic and random, fitting with the anime's nature. The ending, like the BGM, was nothing too special and the voice actors suited their roles relatively nicely.

Characters

What really made this anime enjoyable were the characters. Tsumiki, in particular, was indeed one of the highlights, as she's mostly on the 'dere' side of the "tsundere" character type. Whenever she and Io were having a moment, it was adorable, but not too much so.

My favourite character, however, has to be Sakaki. His antics were always fun to watch, and his reactions in general were one of the better parts of the show for me.

Final thoughts

For me, Acchi Kocchi was a lot of fun to watch, and more or less met my expectations, if not surpassed them. I would recommend it exactly how I recommended K-On!: this anime would be a nice way to relax after a shounen action, and the comedy will wipe away your bad mood. At least, it did for me.

Introduction:

One Day when i was searching for a romance anime, (like many other days) I found this Acchi Kocchi, it looked really cheap when i looked at its cover but after i gave it a chance it was something interesting and had a lot of fun moments.

Story:

So our girl protecenist (who by the way is a Tsundere) Named Tsumiki Minawa is in love with a boy named Io Otanoshi. So the most of the Story of this Anime is centered about the 5 Friends have Fun and do things together.

Animation

My thoughts on the animation:

its very cartoonish but it only makes the Comedy in this Anime much more fun, but sometimes it gets kind of stupid. It has two kinds of Animation one part being the serious one and the other one being the Childish funny version which is used when trying to explain what happened or to tell short flashbacks.

Sound

The sound in this Anime is much like the ones you hear in most Comedy/Romance Anime but this one, in my opinion has some more fun Sounds And they are played at the perfect time which only makes it much much better.

Characters

Ah... yes the characters are almost perfect in this Anime because they organised it so well that there is one of each kind, like our protecenist Tsumiki Minawa who is a tsundere/Loli and then there is the shy girl who in this case is Hime Haruna we after that then have the always happy and crazy girl which is called Mayoi katase who just knows the rules to be funny after that there is Sakaki Inui who is just so dumb that its actually miserable to watch him, Lastly we have Io Otanoshi who i just wanna take a little longer to talk about, he is just plain and simply funny, he does everything to make girls heart skip a beat (Only works in Anime trust me i have tried doing the same as he did, doesnt seem to work in the real world) without knowing it, an example could be that in one episode when he was asked to give a comment in the School news and he said something, every single girl who was watching the school news got a nose bleed, and he does that kind of stuff happens very often and most of the time the result is a nose bleed and a few voices saying kawaii.

Overall

All in all this Anime is really good and i think that its worth giving a chance to watch if you like Romance/comedy/Slice of life, but if you dont like does genres, it probably isnt gonna be fun for you to watch.
