Crime is on the rise in Tokyo, as the pressures of modern life cause the populace's deep-seated desires to bubble to the surface, leading some individuals into a life of corruption which only serves to draw them further into the seedy underbelly of the city. One day, when a request letter is delivered to the "Ask the Phantom Thieves Channel", four high school students and one black cat decide to take action.
i watched the persona 5 special it was okay for a 1 episode special for a game.from what i pick upthe mcs use their magic powers to stop crime by fighting the baddies magical powersthis then causes the bad guy to have a nervous breakdown and they go confessnow thinking about this from the detective characters perspective it seems a bit like they are abducting people feeding them powerful hallucinogenic drugs and making them have a personality change/brain washing/ ego death kind of thingso i was thinking if i was in this world and i heard about them i would say they were a cia offshot (or a cult i guess)/mkultra kind of thing and they glowed really hard/ were cultivating gangs for glowiepurposes - such as drug smuggling and arms dealing and regime changingbut i would be wrongthey are just a bunch of high schoolers who want to stop crime (seemingly from the special)so its lucky im not the detective in that worldi would never catch them cause id be looking for secret documents about them in the archives (and probably get distracted and do research on something else) or i would be blogging about the attempt to coup japan and create a greater police state depending on my moodso they would get away with their misdeedsill leave the crime solving to the detectivesfor now..
This only exists to serve as an extended trailer for the game. Luckily, since it's Persona, I'm more than fine with it. That being said the truncated scope limits the score and ultimate enjoyment that you'll get out of this. The episode is a cool introduction to the main cast. It was great seeing their personas in action for the first time (Zorro!). The plot was self-contained. I hope the writing for the game itself is a little tighter. I also hope the cat gets cuter. The visuals are nice and maintain the Persona "feel." Music was good, but being Persona, that's a given. All in all this feels like a really long starting cut-scene. It serves its purpose.
