Paradox Live the Animation

Saturated in hip hop culture comes the birth of a new movement known as “Phantom Live ”. Each of the artists have a metal accessory known as “Phantom Metal” which chemically reacts to the wearer’s emotions to produce an image, setting a magnificent stage for enthusiastic youths. With legendary club “CLUB paradox” hosting the mysterious Paradox Live, four teams: BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez and Akanyatsura each receive an invitation to participate, each with their own genre of music in a race to the top. Each of the four teams go into the competition for a reason. As the competition heats up, so do the unimaginably large motives each of them hides… The curtain now rises on a swirling illusory stage battle between light and darkness–!

SPOILER FREE I PROMISE It seemed like an intereseting anime that was lively and full of music oh HELL NO WAS I WRONG. This anime is surprisingly dark, it looks like a "music is family" type of anime but seriously thats just the beginning. story For a 12 episode anime, its really well paced out for the plot. So you won't complain. Each character gets a thorougly explained backstory which is revealed gradually, and character developments which are necessary happen correctly. This anime can be relatable in terms of plot, but covers darker themes which makes this anime stand out as not a typical anime.  The lore behind the anime is confusing for me anyway, its based on a media company (Paradox Live) which you can quickly google. It gives the impression that these events actually happen in real life online and are brought to life in an anime which adds onto that difference from typical anime.  ANIMATION now I don't know if im TRIPPING but the animation style changes im pretty sure. When the characters are performing the animation style is more animate, like Genshin Impact style, it's almost like a game style. I think the animators did this to make it easier to animate the perfoming scenes because the amount of other surroundig animations with the whole illusions is amazingly animated.  Then when they aren't performing its stereotypical modern anime style. It doesn't bother me THAT much but you can tell in certain perfomance scenes how Genshin Impacty animated it can be sometimes.  SOUND i liked the music-its mainly focused on hiphop genre but there are some diversity between the music showed. Its a personal taste kinda thing as an individual, you either like it or not, but you can tell that this anime was directed to our generation (generation Z/ Alpha ) by using modern music we are surrounded by in the media.  CHARACTERS aGAIN, every character gst to shine and there is an extremely good balance in pacing in these characters. There really is no 'main character' I mean there is but we follow everyones story. So every character has a chance to develop and we learn about almost every characters background and their dark mysteries that haunt them today.  Overall, this anime is insanely unique in many ways. The only thing I would complain about is the last episode, I got kinda confused a bit and I think maybe the ending was a little more rushed than the rest of the episodes which was disappointing. But the anime does have a functional ending so give it a watch!

(Not spoiler free) This show is desperately trying to appear good while it isn't. Now don't get me wrong it wasn't awful but the sheer lack in every direction sure was impressive. What's happening for twelve full episodes besides characters walking around running their mouths and the hip-hop/rap contest? Which is not even shown a decent chunk of the screen time. So we have a music anime right? Haha you know...where are the songs? I swear more than not screen switches from characters on stage back to the "story" after like 10 seconds in. Gonna compare it to Hypmic for a moment, where no matter what they never cut their performances out. Unprompted trauma dump begining in 3 2 1. But like make it an anime. Those characters are dropping lore bangers regularly and not every time it is fitting. And if this is just "about real human drama" then why is there also a hyper-evil antagonist and Naruto's level of pep-talk therapy? Pick a struggle please. Have been watching BAE soap opera dialogues on x1.5 in the second half. All other groups besides BAE and cozmez are also moderately ignored by the narrative. And as a bonus production crew managed to shove in a filler episode but not even maintain their evil guy. Bro's been shown in the first ep and the next time after ten episodes just to end up being batshit crazy for funsies. He's not even in characters list here. Yes it's that bad. Want to throw in another thing also. If you know The Orphanage Flashback in BSD then you're gonna love local version of it with burnt cds. Allen please we get it already. And the whole phantometal situation oh my god. Like maybe I missed something, but why is everyone ready to die just to continue using cool special effects? I know that the information about it being dangerous is supposedly not well-known but even when characters do learn about it they just like...continue using it after a bit of drama. Freindship is not gonna save you everytime from corrosion bucko. Animation getting worse with each episode was hilarious ngl. Just as this one guy dodging bullets right into his face in the last ep. So to conclude they're obviously trying to promote drama tracks. And it might be the greatest stuff ever I'm not saying anything. But not the anime itself. Is it worth to watch? That's for you to decide. Paralive will mostly appease "hot guys enjoyers" and original fans. What I personally enjoyed is: 3D shows (well made), character designs (somewhat unique/memorable) and listening to their songs on youtube.
