Ouran High School Host Club - Reviews

I rather enjoyed this anime.  All the characters were rather enjoyable to watch, and this anime was rather refreshing to watch.  The characters were all unique and stand out in their own way with each of them having their own quirks to make them stand out even more.  I did have a few problems with this anime.

The voice acting was quite good, with a few weaker areas, but nothing to complain about.

The ending was THE major turn off for me.  It felt as though this series was setting up a season three, but it got cancelled, so the story writers and animators had to crunch an entire season worth of content within like three episodes.  So it felt quite rushed.

Many people refer to this anime as a reverse harem, but I honestly wouldn’t consider it as one.  Besides Tamaki, Kaoru was really the only one who wanted Haruhi’s attention.  Hani and Mori were more into each other, and Hikaru was more interested in making his brother happy.  So, I wouldn’t consider it a harem story.  Many people also complain that Haruhi didn’t actually get with someone, but in harem stories, the main character usually never actually gets together with anyone, so the creators don’t upset any shippers.  By making the main character get with no one, all the shippers can be happy with the possibility that the main character could get their ship.

Ouran High School Host Club can be describe is so many words and so little words. So in this review I am going to chose my words wisely. First of all I like to think that I am a least decently culture about Japan. I have seen a couple of pieces in the past about Host Clubs. When my wife decided which anime to chose this time around and landed on our title. I was a little stunned do to my prior knowledge and her "lack there of". Most of the series was spent with her asking " Do they really do this?" To my reply of " of course. Its Male Geisha in the 21st Century") </h2>

The story was fun, funny and fast pace.

Nothing complicated or complex.Harem all the way, followed up with sweet romanticism.

Very colorful and pleasant to watch. (The Alice In Wonderland rendition is magnificent)

Soundtrack is awesome. Opening and closing theme were very catchy. Couldn't stop singing them for days and never fast forward through them the whole series.

Characters were interesting and creepy.(I guess that twin love is that "Forbidden Taboo" that only could be outspoken in Japan through its animation.) Other characters were very basic to everyday Japanese lifestyle. (Honey-senpai?) 

A must watch. For the intermediate watcher to the Otaku. A great eye opener into the amazing culture that is Japan.

I think Ouran High School Host Club is a perfect anime that will make you laugh. It's one of my favorite animes, I've seen it a dozen times if not more. In my opinion, it's one of, if not the absolute best slice of life anime. The jokes are funny, the characters are genuinely likable, and it's really good at making you care about them. To me, it's just a cute, funny story that still makes me laugh out loud.  Overall 10/10

I love how haruhi really pulls off the boy look, if i wasn't told she was a boy and it wasn't hinted i wouldn't have known! XD some parts are a little loud, but this is a great anime.

I also love the twins, they're mischievous, (Did i spell that right? XD) cute, (kawaii kind of cute, not hot kind of cute XD) and their voices really fit their character, i also love the twins theme.

the voices go really well with the characters, nekozawa (not sure if i spelled that right XD) is cool also, he's creepy but really he just can't go out in the light and it only makes him look creepy and he's a really great character. i also love how they don't have the episodes arranged in a certain way, so if you wanna re-watch it you can just watch your favorite episodes and not have to go through the trouble of watching a few episodes before it just to get a idea of what's happening.

Overall i rate this anime 10/10 

This is an iconic memory. I love it with all of my soul. For the anime, I argue there is little plot, but I think it's more the *vibe* we all come to watch for. The wonderful opening and ending songs, as well as the quirky characters. All the characters are lovable, even the quote on quote annoying ones. There just seems to be charm in every one of them. For sound, I will have to say I actually watch Ouran in English... I think it's incredibly funny, and the VAs are all so distinct. All in all, nostalgic, iconic and still funny in my opinion.
