The other version of episode 12, "True Route," will continue the story, which will end at episode 15.

Continuation from my "Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai" review. Based off memory. Also, spoilers. Mature language. True Incest: True Route. Indeed, the title is true. Uuh. Basically, episodes that should have been in the original anime, but weren't, probably because they were 4 minutes too long for TV. Animation is still okay. Still dislike the sound. The other characters are still alright.
short sweet review - i in fact liked these episodes, i felt like it gave the anime a much needed ending, or simply "better ending" if you will... a department which the anime left very un-satisfying... at first i had a hard time watching these because i saw it as "the sad-ending" but nope, its still light hearted and happy for everyone. adds also much needed character development for black cat *if you are truly not interested in the black cats story but want to know more about kirino then i don't think it would do any harm to simply watch the first ep and the last ep... but all in all; its only four episodes so you might as well just watch it all*
Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai Specials takes off where the first season ended. It's just a few episodes, mild character development, and essentially more of the same... just without the main female character. The balance of the cast is harmed, as the character growth doesn't make up for the hole left by one less character. While a bit more plot heavy than the first season, this ultimately backfires spectacularly in the Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai Specials. The vision that made the first season so annoyingly fun is harmed. Don't get me wrong, it is still not a real plot by any stretch. But more is less in this case. What I'm really trying to say is that the specials stray away from the formula of the first season, to give a bit more resolution and depth. It's a good idea in theory. In this case I wouldn't go so far as to say that it worked; there are too many similarities for Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai Specials to be more than tampering with a formula that was perfect for what it wanted to do. The artwork remains top notch, and if anything, switching up the outfits was actually a very positive thing here. Unfortunately, it remains true to the tone of the first season, and as such is a worse fit to the writing. This does not take away from the technical excellence, but it does make the overall experience far less enjoyable. I won't go into any more detail than that, as this is just a bonus to the first season. Yet despite my qualms, Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai Specials is an enjoyable view, if nothing surprising.
