Should you watch: No Onigiri is based off a MMORPG is and the anime was made in order to advertise the game. While every episode is really short, they still manage to have some kinda a story. For a video game advertisement this is probably the best anime I have seen, but overall it is not that good. Total run time is 40, so its not that long if you want to check out the whole thing. STORY: Set in a fantasy prehistoric japan, Kamikui (the demons) have been freed from imprisonment. A group of girls work together to reseal all the Kamikui. For something that seems like a giant joke and only 3 minutes each, somehow they have an overarching story that makes sense, I was a little weirded out. It’s funny at sometimes (like there be no male voices) but nothing spectacular and ends on a horrible cliff hanger (right before a battle), but that’s supposed to be a joke too I guss. ANIMATION: It’s really good. Everything is very clean and the fight scenes are clear and colorful. The game must be doing well since I can tell that the studio that produced this had a decent budget. SOUND: While the intro is very catchy (top 20% of intros) there really isn’t any other music. CHARACTERS: I almost had a heart attack when one of the characters (a Kamikui that they “turned” into a girl) actually had some development. It is impossible to have decent development and for me to care about any of the 12+ characters in an anime short OVERALL: I give it a 5.5 (bottom 35%). It’s only 40 minutes so if you want to check it out go ahead, but you are much better off just skipping it.
