I went into Gold with a mutual mindset. Yes it's a series I adore, but anime movies are never as good as the canon storyline. Gold delivers. The plot has a somewhat predictable plotline, but it's brought it with a very interesting premise and villain fighting strategy. The film's script does a wonderful job of adding strange villain laughs, character, quirks, and having both humor and action. The series's whisical tone is also present. There's a couple things that I can't give this movie a 10 for. One is when the Straw Hats get their awesome ending costumes, the animators were extremely lazy in designing Nami's outfit. The villain's tragic backstory is also cut too short for us to actually feel any sympathy for him. We get to see some old villains and even a little bit of some of the newer much-loved characters. We also get interesting non-canon Nami backstory. Gold does a fantastic job of poking fun at each of the Straw Hats and they all get a turn being in the action in some way. This movie had moments where I was busting out laughing and other moments where I was like, "Oh my gosh how are they going to get out of this one?!" It's clever, fun, and definitely worth the watch. It does a great job reminding us why we love all nine Straw Hat pirates. Gold is the best One Piece movie yet!

I LOVED this movie. It taught valuable lesson about how if you become greedy and make everything gold, you're hair will turn green and you"ll have girls with you in the bathtub(Wait wrong lesson...). What I mean is absolute riches and power corrupts absolutely. I liked the story. It reminded me of many anvient tales of people who were greedy, but this is a more modern version. I like the animation(I just like One Piece's post-timeskip animation in general). I loved the sound. I couldn't get the opening song out of my head and kept listening to it over and over in different languages and dancing in the aisles of the store like a crazy person. I liked he characters ,as I always do. Overall, I give this baby a SUPER(see what I did there One Piece fans) 10 out of 10.
