There isn't much to this movie. There is no strong theme or conflict. It's the embodiment of the genre, a litteral random slice out of someones life.  The main character is a 13 year old high school student and ice skater. Most of the scenes and issues are about ice skating or her mother who passed away years ago.  I never felt like I got a good sense of most of the characters or felt like there was any point to this story. It wasn't exactly boring, but I spent most of it waiting for something to happen or for the point of the story to be realized. Before I knew it, there were only four minutes left.  I don't mind the slice of life genre and I don't expect anything too crazy from it, but this was, as I already mentioned, a random slice out of someones not very interesting life. I shouldn't say that though. I'm sure there are parts of her life that are interesting....just not this part. The story bounced between her as an ice skater, the town being rebuilt slowly after a big flood, a couple brief moments from her past with her mother, and her remembering the past. That's a lot to do in such a short time, or it would be, except it was all rather brief. There is sort of some themes in the story, but none that are well explored. It's just bland. There isn't a defined begginning, middle, and end (very important for any story), the characters aren't well developed, it felt rushed towards the end, and it doesn't have a solid theme or idea. Animation and sound weren't bad, but they weren't memorable or unique. Overall, I give it a 3.5.
