I'm going to start by the overall opinion about this anime: they took the first season's characters and they forgot about the (very few) good points that season had, along with the reasons I actually wanted to watch this. What's left? 12 episodes of absolute boredom, so-slow-kill-me-now pace and absolutely plain characters in absolutely plain places. I only finished watching it because I don't like to leave series unfinished. Not that I had any hope of this improving on its last episode.

Story: 2/10

Oh, wait, there is story? Forget about the title, sin</script> ce Haruka's secret is not important anymore. It's just one loser guy that says yes to everything every girl says, a mild-retard cute girl that loves him even if he was about to slap her in the face, and like 20 characters which personality you could move to one another and the show wouldn't even be affected. Add some random places, cliché situations you have already seen in 7 out of 10 animes and some ecchi.

It had one mini-arc but it was so predictable, plus it did destroy the last congruent piece about the main character (Haruka). I mean, one day this girl hides she likes anime, the next becomes an idol? WTF.

Ah, the titles have nothing to do with the actual episodes. They must've feel so clever to put sexual jokes on it and letting people find out it's bs.

I almost forget. The comedy moments are not even funny. Only a very few of them, mostly including Haruka's parents.

Animation: 7/10

No complaints there. Yuto (main male chara) looks dull and plain, but it fits his personality, so... Girls, on the other side, are cute. Op & ed are cute in a manner of speaking, but I skipped them after watching them for the first time.

Sound: 5/10

Average soundtrack. Pretty average cast. I ended up loathing Haruka's voice as it is so formal. Op & Ed don't deserve a second listening, but that's just my two cents there. There's gotta be people that liked them.

Characters: 4/10

You could cut half of the characters and the show would work the same way. Too many maids, too many little sister, too many boring secondary-classmates. The little otaku almost disappears in this 2nd season, and it was fun in the 1st one provoking some situations.

The main characters are boring, and they make you wonder if they are really 16-17 years old. They get excited when they are touched in the shoulder. They stare at each other and say each other's name (A LOT) just like that, but it's not even funny. Don't expect them to evolve as episodes go by. And don't expect big improvements in their relationship. So, what's left? They have no will, they are such pushovers that they belong together.

It's even sad that the show's writers try to create a sub-plot with Shiina as she is in love with Yuto, or with the little sister Mika. By the way, she's more adult than her older sister. No surprises there.

Overall: 3/10

Okay, you could lose your time with worse animes than this one. But my advice is to avoid unless you completely loved the first season. Then (MAYBE) it just won't come as such a big disappointment. And pray with me they won't spend any further yen in making a 3rd season out of this. Please.

"As Yuuto continues to keep Haruka’s otaku nature as much of a secret as possible, chaos continues to surround them. With Yuuto’s wild, drunken housemates gatecrashing their trip to a hot springs resort, and Haruka’s sister and maid team concocting various schemes to allow the pair to spend time together, nothing is ever straightforward. While Yuuto does all in his power to make Haruka happy, including working as butler for the tyrannical Touka and pulling an all-nighter to help her finish her first doujinshi, he is unsure as to how the school beauty feels about him. Will the clueless duo finally be able to muster up the courage, and the time alone, to finally confess their feelings for each other?"

I am warning you now. While I try not cursing in a review, this anime deserves every single one I use. There is a prequel to this, and I watched both seasions of this in order. It really makes no difference if you skip the prequel however, the story is just as ingaging.

In a nut shell:

I am going to come out and say it right at the beginning. This anime is as orginal and refreshing as my cat shitting all over my house. If the description interests you at all, go ahead and try a few episodes. If it doesn't, avoid it like the plague. You will be disappointed.

Story: 2/10

One of the most cliché romance stories ever. You have everything from the hot spring episode, to the school fair. I wasn't joking guys; this is not an engaging story. Pacing? What the hell is pacing? The final episode has absolutely nothing to do with episodes 8-11. They start to come up with a semi-ok final mini story arc, and then they blow it by ending it at 11. This leaves a random 12th episode that feels more awkward then what Bill Clinton would feel if he was left on a deserted island with Hillary.

There are only two redeeming parts of the story that kept it from getting lower than a 2. One is that while the story in episodes 8-11 was super predictable, it gave us a mildly (very mildly) interesting story.

The other thing was that some of the sexual related jokes were definitely entertaining. They didn't really pull punches to suit the demographics this show was designed for. You will hear such things as "Put it inside me gently it is my first time" and "I'll let you suck on this pickle". While these things always turn out to be misunderstandings, it does make you question Japanese sexuality. Also, I'm pretty sure two of the characters have sex in a big panda outfit. I wasn't quite sure.

If you care about a story, drop this shit. If you’re looking for some sex based laughs, it is crude, but I found it funny. However, I will always be a 14 year old boy at heart so more mature people might think "WTF!?" Killermouze, you thought that was funny?

Animation: 8/10

The animation is one of two redeeming qualities of Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Purezza. While the animation is barely average for a modern anime, the girls look pretty good. That is to be expected when a show uses copious amounts of echi to try and make up for a bad anime. The saving grace here is the original beginning and ending sequences. The beginning sequence is someone drawing the characters on what looks like Photoshop in fast motion. I usually fast forward through the opening, but I found this fascinating, and watched it for every episode. The ending sequence was miniature distorted versions of the characters all dancing in a line. I know it sounds stupid, but it is surprisingly cute (I usually don't do "cute").

Sound: 7/10

Sound was also slightly above average for modern day anime. It is the second positive trait of this anime. Like the animation, the opening and especially the closing songs are fun and might deserve a download. Character voices weren't all that bad, but Haruka’s overly gaggy voice does get a little old.

Characters: 4/10

You have your typical annoying ass maids and little sister running around trying to get Haruka and Yutto to hook up. Every once in a while they can be mildly amusing. The other characters aren't mentionable. Well, maybe Haruka's father. He amused me.

I have mixed feelings about both Haruka and Yutto.

First off, Yutto. I was surprised that the animators made the male lead a dorky looking guy with glasses. Not having the typical pretty boy was definitely a plus. He’s definitely the luckiest guy in school; being liked by the attractive Haruka. How the hell that ever happened I couldn't tell you. However, all of his positives are destroyed by the lack of balls he all 12 episodes. I was frustrated throughout the whole series that the male lead was such a pushover. Hell, a 10 year old kid would have displayed more chutzpah (Hebrew based word for having a backbone). It wouldn't be bad if he showed a little character development, but he is the same loser at the end as he was at the beginning.

Secondly, Haruka suffers from the same problem as Yutto. She has absolutely no backbone. She couldn't think for herself if her life depended on. I wouldn’t be surprised if she died trying to decide whether to cut the red or blue wire on a bomb. BTW, the instructions next to the bomb say “To disarm, cut the red wire”. To put it bluntly, with her common sense and ability, even at the end, I can't figure out how the hell she lived past 15 years old without getting brutally raped and killed. It’s that bad. She is just as frustrating as Yutto.

However, I guess to say that I was frustrated means that I showed at least some sympathy for the main characters.

Overall: 5/10

I have seen worse anime then this, but holy shit, the crew making Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Purezza must have been perverted 12 year old drunk boys who had no idea what an anime was supposed to look like. I could have wrote a better script and I wouldn't call myself the artsy creative type.

Only watch Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Purezza if you are obsessed with shitty romance/echi anime. You might get some amusement out of it. Keyword: Might.

This is the first review I have done on an anime. The only reason I am doing this one is to hopefully save some other person the pain this series put me through.

  Story 1/10

There is no plot throughout this season except for a slight dilemma with the main character not being able to speak his mind. The whole idea is to make him look so shy and friendly that he cannot express himself. The first season had a semi-interesting scenario of the popular girl being a closet otaku. In the second season there is nothing left; it is just 12 episodes of filler.

 Animation 4/10

The animation is not bad. It is not good either. I'll just say that the animation was fine.

 Sound 4/10

This should be rated lower. I liked the cell phone ringtones. Everything else sounded like it was pirated from Scooby Doo.

 Characters 2/10

There was nothing unique about any of them. The only saving grace was that some of them are enjoyable to look at.

 Overall 2.5/10

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Purezza is a bad series. It could be found useful in torcher sessions. The thought of having to watch any of the episodes twice should be enough to get the toughest of confessions. It was like watching porn acting without the nudity. Even if you really liked the first season, you should not watch this.
