It's a shame and an insult to the good original anime.
The animations, if any, seem to be indiscriminate. In some cases, only pictures were placed one after the other.
Story? Not really. It has no common thread, because there are only small fragments of story.
The sound is ok. But I am confused that the speakers are bared for it. Even if you did your job well.
The characters are ok.

I dont really like the Specials, they are really Fan-Service heavy, especially Episode 5. But that is the only reason I dont like them.
The Animation and the charachters are really good, just as in the original anime.
The Sound is good too, same Voice Actors and good music.
If you like the original anime and if you really want to watch it, then do, but it is definetely not necessary! ^^
