They are both, in the end, love stories that can resonate with their viewers. While both love stories, they also both have very sad elements mixed in, making everything bittersweet especially towards the end, so they both take different directions when finished.

also, while brief, they both show the characters after the movie and how they've been. Pancreas is one of my favorites, so you may like the other if you like it. If you like ni no kuni, as long as you can take the tears, you'll love pancreas

The golem hopes to find Somali's parents alive somewhere, but the chances of this are slim; and besides, as far as Somali is concerned, she has already found herself a beloved father.

Both of these are movies with 2 worlds that are touching and accessible to some people. One though history and one through a parallel world. Both of these have sword fights and people fighting for what they believe in. There are some romantic moments but overall they are fantasy and fighting pretty much through and through.
