Natsume Yuujinchou Roku is completely bittersweet. The feels this had was immense. I teared up at spots, especially concerning scenes with the Youkai tree and his promise. Even for it's short time, it's more of the characters that we've come to love. From cynical sensei to charming and personable Natsume.

Outstanding performance, and a moving story that any and all can enjoy.

These additional 2 episodes at the end of Season 6 of Natsume's Book of Friends continue the tradition of genuine and heart-warming storytelling that makes the Natsume anime such a beloved and bittersweet franchise. In the first episode, Natsume and Nyanko-sensei help a youkai bound to a tree stump fulfill its wish before the youkai disappears to the spirit world. In the second episode, Natsume helps a young girl find an owl spirit so that she can return the spirit's ring.

Those that are familiar with the Natsume franchise will have the same feelings with these episodes as they would when watching the regular series - a feeling of hope and inspiriation. Natsume might live a lonely life because of his ability to see spirits, but he is never truly alone as the youkai that he befriended during his adventures will always support him.

The pacing of these episodes fit with the motif of the main series, and just like its parent these episode contain the consistent animation and voice acting from the prior series that made it one of the better anime in the industry. Natsume shows concern for those that he helps whether they be human or youkai, even if it means risking his life.

These two episodes are great supplements to the main series, and if you're a fan of this series then you will certainly enjoy watching these episodes.
