Takashi Natsume sees spirits, and with the help of his lazy and sake-guzzling bodyguard Nyanko-sensei he returns to spirits their names that were stolen by his grandmother Reiko Natsume. Not all of the spirits are peaceful though, and he often fights to keep himself and his family and friends safe while at the same time fighting the loneliness that plagued him before he found his home.

This anime has definitely growing on me. The music is so familiar after watching the first two seasons that I feel like it's apart of me. The characters have grown on me to and I feel like this anime has such a way of connecting you to the story and to each character you meet along the way. That last episode was amazing and really pieced together everything that has happened so far. But it scares me because I feel like our happy youkai and human family aren't going to be able to share those happy care free moments together and that as the series continues I'll have to say goodbye to these characters I've grown so attached to. I feel just as Natsume does towards his human and youkai friends and that says a lot about the capabilty of this anime.
A very charming anime. I loved it from the beginning till the end. The animation is superb, and the story line is extremely cute. This show makes me want to name my next cat Nyanko-sensei.
The first 5 episodes of this season were kinda bad tbh but after that it became quite good and interesting and in this season characters like tanuma were more relevant to the story. One downside of this season was that the book of friends was used less and mentioned less in this season. The best thing about this season was that natsume finally made peace with himself and he now knows that he loves both youkai and humans equally.
