Takao Kasuga is a lonely boy who spends his days immersed in books to escape his frustration with life. His only source of joy is the beautiful Saeki, who he secretly admires from afar. However, Takao's obsession goes too far one day when, in a moment of emotional folly, he steals the girl's gym clothes and takes them home with him. Worse, his terrible deed is spotted by Sawa Nakamura, a mysterious outcast who sits behind him in class who threatens to reveal the boy's secret unless he promises to engage in a contract with her. At first it seems Sawa just wants some companionship, but soon it becomes clear that this "contract" involves more than mere afternoon chats. In fact, Takao is about to discover just how dangerous his bond with Sawa is and how it threatens to tear everything - his life, his love, and even his sanity - apart.
Both are about the relationship between a nerdy boy and a strange girl. They both start with the nerdy boy doing something a little weird (preverted) after school hours and the relationship that ensues.
Both series have they're weird quirks and darkish atmospere (although Aku no Hana's was considerably darker). I think both seriesfit well together.
Nothing like an anime that explores the world of adolescent sexuality (minus the fanservice, these are about metaphorical psychology).
Shinichiro Nakagami is an everyday high school student, with the exception of having his beautiful and athletic childhood friend Hiromi Yuasa living in his household after the death of her parents. His family is also forcing him to practice a traditional Japanese dance that does not interest him, adding to his frustration. On top of that, he is cursed to misfortune by another girl in school, the eccentric Noe Isurugi. Shinichiro juggles all of these problems on a day-to-day basis as he learns about love and the sadness of those around him.
In a high school setting, there are many people whose stories must be told: Hiro, an aspiring manga artist whose view of the world is "missing a certain color," according to himself; his childhood friend Kei, who is vying for his attention; Kyosuke, a photographer and cameraman who seeks to capture true emotion in his work; the ever-cheerful Miyako, who meets Hiro by chance and immediately becomes attached to him; the gentle Renji, unsure of his aspirations to become a novelist; and Kei's mysterious and quiet sister Chihiro, who seems to be a different person every day. As time passes and they interact with one another more, their paths increasingly intertwine as shades of regrettable pasts emerge.

Mysterious Girlfriend X is deffinatly a must see, It drags you into a couples awkward but almost heart warming relationship. This relationship is fueled by the bond they share. This bond is drool yes drool, and every afternoon Tsubaki (the male love intrest) tastes mikotos (the female love intrests) drool. Doing this alows Tsubaki to feel what Mikoto is feeling. This also applys to if Mikoto tastes Tsubakis drool. But all in all the story is not as weird as it sounds its actualy kind of touching. Soif you haven't seen this I highly reccomend you drop what ever the hell your doing AND WATCH FOR GODS SAKE.

Very similiar is everyway
A male protagonist who know what the hell is going on.
The female is wierd/bad shit crazy
but unlike mysterious girlfriend X. Future diary is a whole lot more enjoyable.
Its a tournament style survival horror anime with a romantic twist definitely a must watch

However, when Rikka discovers his past life as the "Dark Flame Master", she uses this to her advantage to include him in all of her wacky schemes! A Japanese high school can be a strange place – or so it’s been told. However, as critical thinking is not the strong point of our freshman heroine Eriko, even the most outrageous stories are likely to come true. Going through the motions of high school life with a flair and panache that can only be gawked at, Eriko and her old and new friends set a new (low) standard for the typical coming of age drama. Cry with them as they fight adversity and learn the importance of trust and friendship in this cruel, cruel world; laugh with them during the incomparable happiness of the seemingly never-ending springtime of youth; and finally, laugh AT them, when they constantly manage to show their panties in public!
Takaki, Yuuji, Tamaki, Komaki and the rest of the gang are back, and ready for more adventures. Yuuji is aroused - err, thrilled - to have a new maid robot named Ilfa in the house, and tries his best to take as many perverted videos of her chest and nether regions as possible; the girls take a trip to the beach, where more videotaping is attempted; and everyone works hard on getting the school’s festival planned and running. It’s all in a day’s work for this group of friends!
During Usa and Ritsu’s school culture festival. With their schedules being busy the two haven’t been able to spend a lot of time together. Ritsu begins to experience a sense of jealousy seeing Usa around other girls.

Chio just wants to get through her school life without standing out too much, but for some reason, all kinds of obstacles await her along the path she takes to school. Her long-time friend Nonomura Manana, who's trying to quit being an otaku; the flawless Hosokawa Yuki, who occupies the top caste in the school; and lots of nameless people about town find themselves in Chio's path as she employs the (useless) techniques she's acquired from her Western video games in her daily efforts to get to school.
