Both have the same amount of comedy, supernatural and harem genre. However, Myraid Color was just simply a reverse of Inubato, were in Inubaot the characters were kept off the Fairy Wars, while Myriad Colors puts the same kind of characters in the action.

It uses the same general premise, but with a superior story and more likeable characters. The animation of both are on par with one another, (read: fantastic). Both are highschool based shows where a single, next to useless male protag is the object of affection for several far more powerful girls. The supernatural element is almost completely irrelevant, with the story focusing on character development and interplay. Myriad was cute, but Supernatureal Battles stuck with me after i finished it.

Shuhan Shuhan says...

Both anime looked almost same to me. In short both anime is about one highschool boy's everyday life with his club members, and yeah all members other than the protagonist are girls. And in both anime there is a loli middle school girl. There are few serious moments in both anime. Other than that it's just as I said before, it's full of their everyday life with super powers type things.

LilyNoel LilyNoel says...

Both are harem-esque anime that involve supernatural powers and a male protagonist that is originally portrayed as a weakling until their true power is revealed.

HKBattosai HKBattosai says...

If you liked the long weird titled Myriad Colors Phantom World or When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace, you'd probably like the other because they both feature one guy with superpowers working with a harem/harem-like group of girls with superpowers. Each of their powers are unique and different with one not being the same as the other (in both anime).

Both anime involve the supernatural, and the characters who have special abilities they can use to fight off the spiritual beings. They both have their serious and light hearted comedy moments... Along with Noragami, I feel they all have a similar vibe to them.

They both have very well developed characters with a bit of history in both anime.

They both have the fantasy element but Beyond the Boundary has a touch of romance as well. They both are set in high school, and both have a phantom element. The comedy is also quite heartwarming.

If you like how "Phantom World" is heartwarming, you might like to try "Ookamisan" or vice-versa.

Both anime are heartwarming and funny. The art style of both anime are very high quality. The layout of the story is also very similar, that every arc composed of 1 or 2 episode.

The difference is that "Ookamisan" focus more on romance and friendship while "phantom World" focus on family and friendship.

AikoSuzuki2002 AikoSuzuki2002 says...

They are pretty similar anime.

Like the review says the common factor is how the animes focus on friendship but Ookami-san adds the romantic element as well, and Musaigen no PhantomWorld has a family history with each character, showing the development of the characters.

Ookami-san doesn't have a fantasy element but it does have pretty sweet fighting scenes.

Noragami

Noragami

Yato, the supposed God of Calamity, is so far down on the Shinto totem pole that he doesn't even have any followers or a shrine to call his own and has to do odd jobs to make ends meet. Worst of all, his aloof and somewhat goofy personality has just cost him his newest partner and best holy weapon. When the down-on-his-luck Yato is saved by an unfortunate soul called Hiyori, he's forced to take on a brand new job - to turn her back into a human and fix her supernatural out-of-body experiences! Can Yato, a Regalia-less, miserly minor god, even attempt such a tall order? And is there more to him than his ridiculousness lets on?

While phantom is longer and tends to stray from the story it's lack of focus and frustatingly slow unveiling of main story plot elements progressing through each show are likewise infuriating.  The main character in both is a bit of a lonely guy at least at first with severe social interaction issues.  These stories blur lines of fantasy and game like elements.  The home life of the lead female suffers from at least one major incident in both that puts the main character in jeopardy as well but despite that they intervene on the girl's behalf.

RogueLynx RogueLynx says...

they're both harem anime, starring kids with supernatural abilities, who rise from the bottom from amongst their peers. in Musaigen they're pest control, in Tai-madou they're supposed to be witch hunters. i'm not sure how much witch hunting actually took place, i saw it like, 4 years ago.

it takes a similar approach to character development. i think that the characters' conflicts were more interesting in Tai-madou but that's just my opinion. conflict resolution though, was handled better in Musaigen.

i also thought that Tai-madou was WAY funnier and the lead was way cooler and unlike Musaigen it had an overarching plot, and for these reasons i'd say that Tai-madou was a better series overall and if you liked Musaigen you should try it out.

BEWARE THE ECCHI though. NOT reccomended for anyone who is not in the 16-21 age bracket.
