Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki

Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki

Expert gamer Tomozaki Fumiya doesn’t exactly fit in, but he wishes he did. With no written rules for success and gameplay that doesn’t work in his favor, the real world seems impossible for someone like him. But, like any noob, all he really needs are some strategies and a seasoned player like Aoi Hinami to help him. Hopefully with her guidance, Tomozaki will gain the experience he needs.

HENNEKO - The Hentai Prince and the Stony Cat

Rumors tell of a Stony Cat statue that grants a special wish: it will take one of your disliked personality traits and give it to someone in need. Two students arrive at the Stony Cat eager to make a change – Youto, an unabashed pervert, wishes to remove his façade and be able to speak his true feelings, while Tsukiko desires to hide her expressions and be more like an adult. However, little did the pair know that their prayers would be answered in unexpected ways – Youto begins to speak the full, embarrassing truth with brutal honesty, and Tsukiko becomes visually stoic, unable to smile, laugh or cry! To make matters worse, Youto soon runs afoul of the beautiful school idol Azusa, the girl who inherited his unwanted façade. Together, the three slowly become friends while Youto and Tsukiko try to regain what they've lost.

If you liked Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru or Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko then there's a good chance that you would like the other. Both of them are harem-type animes with a lot of humor thrown in. They also focus on only a couple of girls so it's easier to keep track of them. The MC in both is an outcast of sorts, who doesn't have top notch social skills (a pervert in one and an anti-social kid in the other). Despite that they end up having to help people and make new friends along the way.

ndesi62 ndesi62 says...

Both are refreshing, modern stories that have a very similar sense of humor and make damn good use of it. Moreover, the emotions they explore are very similar. Both are about anxious teenagers trying to get around their social facades so that they can be themselves, express their identities, and express their respective romantic feelings. Oregairu gets deeper into the philosophy and emotions, however despite supposedly being ecchi Henneko also manages to pack a good emotional punch. If you like one you will definitely like the other, although fans of Oregairu migrating to Henneko will have to give some leeway for fan service.

MM!

MM!

Seeking a cure for his depraved masochism, Taro Sado approaches the Second Volunteer Club on the recommendation of his best friend, Tatsukichi. There he finds the help of the violent but kind Mio Isurugi who promises to beat the masochism out of him by any means necessary. Will Taro be able to survive the assaults of this upperclassman, the overly-affectionate attentions of his mother and sister, and still lead a normal school life? Unlikely. But will he get over his perverse fetish? He sure hopes so.

Both anime feature a similar relationship structure between the male lead and the female leads both are comedy centered. MM! is doubtlessly the more crude on the side of humour while Yahari is smoother and uses fewer recycled tropes. However both anime are worth checking out if one is not bothered by the fact that MM! will never have a conclusion and is more sexualized than Yahari.

zetazach zetazach says...

Both animes revolve a male protagonist, 2 female protagonists, and a club that helps other people with their problems. While MM! has while has more drastic crude comedy, Yahari is more calm and collected feeling with loners.

Both anime are about a club for helping people out. While Yahari has a more central romance plot as is indicated with love in the title. Sket dance still has a couple of romance arcs that people will probably be able to compare to Yahari. Both anime contain great comedy and have some duller episodes.

Sket dance is longer and therefore you will have to deal with them a bit more frequently however both anime possess quirky characters that manage to keep you in the story after their initial introduction. While Yahari's main strenght is it's male lead Sket dance is truly focussed on the club as a whole the most of the time and the club actually manages to have diverse and quirky characters.

rafoka rafoka says...

Both are about a high school student club that have the objective to help others students with their problems. Both are school life comedies, but they also have huge differences in some ways. SNAFU have more romance and is more mature in a lot of ways, while SKET Dance is more action oriented.

Anyway I just think it's worth a try as I enjoyed both of them and to me they seen similar. You have a great characters development, you start understanding more and more about the main characters throughout the series and ends up loving them.

Both of them starts with two characters (girl and boy) who helps others. The female protagonists is also very popular among the students.

nonmelodic nonmelodic says...

While the genre and humour are different, both series have that high school comedy element to them, that and a male protagonist who is close to people immensely skilled and talented. If you enjoyed the comedy skits in Medaka box then you’ll probably enjoy the comedy skits in SNAFU (just be aware that SNAFU is not a pure comedy and has its serious moments. If your looking for a pure high school comedy, then probably go watch Baka and Test or Seitokai No Ichizonn instead (tho both are a bit ecchi so if you’re against that they aren’t for you either).

Both series are about a male protagonist entering a club/group that help out other people/students; however, these series have different personalities. While Ookami-san has a more violent, comedic flavor with a side of polar opposites and action, while Yahari has a more calm, intellectual flavor with a side of loners and comedy.

In both series, the club of focus helps out students who ask. However, Ookami-san is more exaggerated/ action oriented, while Yahari is more school life oriented.  Both are humorous.

Both series revolve around a boy and a girl who are social outcasts (and loners) at their school and who are forced to interact with each other. As the story progresses they get joined by other social outcasts and some hints of romance are introduced. If you liked one, try the other one too.

RubyofRaven RubyofRaven says...

If you liked Yahari Ore no Seishun, then I'm sure you might also like Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. The reasoning for this is the characters and how they interact with each other.

In both shows, the main characters and their respective love interests are all new to love and making friends. On top of this, they tend to have abnormal relationships(love or otherwise) and often mock each other in a similar way as Hachiman and Yukino (although, perhaps a bit more heated at times).

An example of how I find these characters similar is the main character in My Little Monster, Shizuku, who reminds me of Yukino in how smart she is and how she deals with people, especailly the guy she may or may not like.

It should also be noted that most of the main chracters in both shows are also outcasts (at least at the start of the show) and they all, naturally, have their own demons to face in order to further their growth as people.

The characters themselves are not so similar to each other as to be seen as archetypes, but they are similar.

Along with this, both shows have great comedy that I find I haven't seen before (as in, they don't have some of the same jokes I often find in this genre being played out). It's refreshing and doesn't seem to have an outragious mass of fan-service.

All in all, this show is definetly worth a look at if you liked watching Yahari Ore No Seishun. I doubt you'd regret watching it.

In actuality, Rikka is merely a normal high school girl afflicted with chuunibyou syndrome, a "disease" that makes one prone to delusional flights of fancy. Meanwhile former chuunibyou sufferer Yuuta Togashi is enrolled at the same school, looking to put his embarrassing junior high exploits behind him. However, when Rikka discovers his past life as the "Dark Flame Master", she uses this to her advantage to include him in all of her wacky schemes! With Rikka’s zany behavior dragging him further and further from normalcy, Yuuta must try to pull her back into the real world – or risk getting sucked into hers!

The similarity between those two series comes in form of two peculiar secondary characters and their way of dealing with their students or siblings. In both series those characters are adult women who are either main characters' teacher or older sister of the female lead. If you liked either one of those (or both) in one of the series, then the other one should be worth watching for those characters alone (not that there are no other reasons to watch those two shows).

I just absolutly love this anime an it might not seem like much at first, this series get deeper and far more interestong after a coupleof epsiodes. Like Nourin, it drags yo in, but when the series is over, you practically die.

Thetrooper007 Thetrooper007 says...

I might be alone on this, but I can't help but think these two anime are incredibly similar.  There's a few reasons why I say that:

1. The main reason why these shows similar to me is because the relationship between the male and female leads feels really similar.  Araragi/Senjougahara and Hachiman/Yukino both have the same sort of distant-yet-close relationship, and--at least to me--it's there constant back and forth bantering which drives the show.

2. Both shows are structured in arcs in which the major characters have to somehow help a different character with their own problems.  However, Bakemonogatari focuses more on individual issues whereas SNAFU focuses on the relationships between multiple individuals.

3. Both shows, at least in part, attempt to deconstruct certain cliches associated with their respective genre.  (Harem for Bakemonogatari and School Life RomCom for SNAFU)

One last thing I'll say about how these shows are different: Bakemonogatari has very few school life elements to it, and SNAFU has no supernatural elements or action scenes.  So, if you liked the opposite anime mostly for those reasons, then you won't find much of that in the other show I'm recommending.

Hikigaya is a loner but for Isla she s afraid of making memories and friends so she s a bit of a loner.

PurplePeopleEater PurplePeopleEater says...

In both animes, one of the main characters doesn't want to get close to anyone due to a past experience. They are both loners who eventually begin to let their walls break down. Both focus on the relationships between individuals an the individual and society as well as nonconformity.
