--SPOILER FREE REVIEW The second season of Muv-Luv and it does not disappoint. The story has been adapted better than the first season and the pacing is going a lot more fluent. I'm very happy they didn't rush the story but took their time to work to one of the highlights of the series. The story: 8/10 I'm a huge fan ever since I played the VN and the first season skipped a lot of context, but now a lot more of the original story has been adapted and it shows. The pacing is good and never had a moment where I felt things were off. The story picks up where the first season ended and shows furthur progression of Takeru's quest to save the world. The animation (6/10): The weak point of the series, the use of CGI for the BETA isn't that much of a turn off for me, as I know that animation huge battle scenes takes a lot of resources, but they feel very clunky and not very smooth at times.  Sound (9/10): I love the opening theme sung by JAM project, especially since they did the original opening of the VN as well. I immediatly got that nostalgic feeling. The ending OST gives that perfect mix of bittersweet feelings. The OST itself is well composed and complements the series very well. Characters (8/10):I'll be the first to admit that my enjoyment of the characters is colored by the fact that I've played the VN and seen all the other previous anime. As such, I still love the transition that Takeru makes throughout the series. He's not a one man fighting machine, but just a kid that's dealing with a lot of traumatic events. Every character feels real and not twodimensional. I loved it a lot and I'm looking forward to season three.
