There are far better school life comedies out there, K-On being one that people tend to love. I wasn't a huge fan, but it's easily a step above Morita-san!

Girls' Last Tour and Morita-san wa Mukuchi are both iyashikei anime. You needn't have to invest too much to undestand what's going on in the story, they are easy going and give off a sense of comfort. While GLT does have a slight story arc, it can also be rewatched episodically, very much like Morita-San. Both shows have an almost exclusively all-female cast and also only female main characters. If you're into cute girls being cute, these two will be your jam.
