If you're looking for anime similar to Mobile Suit Gundam 00, you might like these titles.
In 2010, the Britannian Empire enslaved Japan using powerful mecha known as Knightmares; in the aftermath Japan was renamed Area 11, and its people began a hard and terrible existence. Lelouch, a Britannian student living in Area 11, has grown up hating the Empire and everything it stands for. One day, in the middle of a terrorist attack, Lelouch meets a mysterious girl who grants him the ability to control minds. Can he use his new power to fight for freedom, or will his hatred twist his good intentions into mindless acts of vengeance?
Military drama with mystery and high-caliber production values. Gundam 00 replaced Code Geass after its run was over. They are both from SUNRISE. If you like Gundam 00 then you will probably enjoy CODE GEASS and vice versa.
Both are alike in that they have intricate political conflicts, mecha action and deep characters that will bring out great feelings of hate or love.
Flashy animation, mecha fest with plenty of action packed sequences, political intrigue galore: Gundam 00 and Code Geass in a nutshell. Both titles focus on the efforts of the leads to change the world in one way or another, these efforts having quite drastic consequences along the way. Gundam 00 follow a group of characters and takes place in space as well as on Earth while Code Geass has a clear main character and takes nationalistic desires as the primary plot device, fans of one are likely to enjoy the other.
both have the theme of eliminating whats "wrong" in the world. whether its segrigation or war the goal is to eliminate it. though the main charectors have there own reasons for what they do.
These anime share the theme of trying to achieve a morally good goal through means which are not so clear cut. There are also instances in both Gundam 00 and Code Geass where a major character makes a decision motivated by selfish personal feelings which has unintended consequences on innocent people. And, of course, the Mecha battles are always a plus. Basically, if you liked the themes in one of these anime, you'll like the other.
Both are thought-provoking animes that step out of the ordinary mecha stereotype. Both show off intense mecha battles (more strategy involved in Code Geass) and high-production value. Mecha fans will be deeply satisfied with either.
If you liked Code Geass or Mobile Suit Gundam 00, then you'd like the other because they both have the main characters fighting to bring about a world of peace even if it is at the cost war. Tho in Code Geass the main character seems to be evil for using his powers differently, you could say the main character in mobile suit gundam 00 is evil for using his power to provoke violence. So in other words both main characters are good and bad in different aspects.
Both shows center around mech based battles that serve to shift the world in profound ways through poltical means. Both main characters are part of "terrorist" organizations that attempt to change the world for better abeit using morally questionable means.
Both anime have mecha elements with mobile suits. What uniqely connects the two is the strategical aspect both possess. Further more they also deal with political affairs, that concern the future of humanity. In order to make sure the destinies they choose lead to prosperity for the whole world.
juz love it!!! their works on mecha is amazing. their character also great.... storyline also great... tiptop
Both have the main characters going after an idea of the irradication of war and the common goal of world peace. Mecha battles are great in both and both have many twists in the story line so if you like one, youll definitly like the other. Both will keep you watching episode after episode!! Both of these animes are great!!! Watch both if you can! :)
Both Code Geass and Gundam 00 are very much about the moral grey areas of society and it's rules. Both series focus on a small number of people trying to change the world for the better and using similar methods to do it. Both involve more than just mecha. The styles of the anime are similar, both plot wise and technically. If you enjoyed one, the other is most defiantly worth a try.
Seekers of giant robot porn look no further. These politically charged war epics will have you on the edge of your seat in anticipation.
Both are similar in soo many ways from the strategy t the mecha to the complex characters and intriguing story plot
Both animes feature rebellion and mechs, however Code Geass has more plot twists while Gundam 00 is centered around mechs more
These two animes contain brilliant mecha action, as well as a story about war. The plot and ideas behind these two anime are completely different, but both are intriguing.
Both are mecha shows with a lot of focus on terrorism and warfare.
They both deal with themes of morality, to a similarly cynical level.
Fans of one should check out the other.
The art work, the ammount of time and dedication it took for the character development was breath taking, every little sceen had its significant moments in both generes, I wouldnt chose one over the other. If you have not seen these animes you must, it is arguably these best animes out to date IN my opinion of course. Feel free to let me know what you think!
Like most boys his age, the young Renton thinks of nothing but reffing – riding trapar waves on a board – and idolizes Holland, the leader of the renegade group of reffers named Gekko State. As an orphan of a famous hero, he lives a boring life with his grandfather until the beautiful Eureka crashes, literally, into his life. Now, with the help of his newfound friend and crush, Renton finds himself living amongst the crew of Gekko State. The errands are hard and the bullying is fierce, but with Eureka by his side, Renton just might find the courage to tough it out and even save the world!
Both Eureka Seven and Gundam 00 share similar mecha designs, color schemes, and very compelling story lines. If you liked one, then you're bound to like the other.
Firstly both anime use mechs and they hold symbolic importance to the stories. However the story rather then based on the mechs is centered on the people piloting them. The characters fuel the excitement of each series and you become engrossed in their lives. The plots are both fairly close to each other, but it is something a viewer must see to understand. Eureka Seven is more catered to romance while Gundam 00 is about ideals or understanding, but both contain these aspects and they share many others.
If you liked one of these series then your probably going to like the other one because both series deal with a small group of people working together to bring about some kind of change in the world through the use of mechas. Each series stays mainly focused on the male but will have a couple of episodes for the other supporting characters in each series. Romances of some sort develop in each series though the romance within Eureka Seven is much more expanded upon than that of the romances in Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Also within each series there tends to be more of a focus on the single main mech than the other mechas which usually play less significant roles. Also within each series the major opposing force is that of the larger world governments with independent factions only playing minor enemies for a couple of episodes.
Gonzo does it again with this action-packed mecha comedy. She's an ordinary high school girl. He's a counterterror agent assigned to protect her from those who would steal the information locked in her mind. OK, so she's not so normal after all. Armored Slave battles and lovers' spats abound as Sousuke and his comrades try to track down the mysterious Gauln before it's too late.
The main characters of both series are middle eastern children who grew up in guerrila bands. The two shows are both mecha anime in a believable setting. More importantly both groups, Celestial Being and Mithril are organizations that save the world from threats. There are so many parralels between the series that if one watches one, he must watch the other.
Awesome mecha battles, is more needed to be said?
If so, also have really intersting plots about organisations.
they both have the one charcter who is always confused, that one bad guy who just won't die, and both the main characters had to fight since they were very little. OH and fighting roboats what more do you want. the only diffrence is that mobile suit gundam is mainly in space and full metal panic is on earth
After being threatened by extinction at the hands of alien invaders called the Zentradi, humanity undertook the task of guaranteeing itself a future by launching fleets of colony ships into space. On Macross Frontier, one such fleet, high school student Saotome Alto's life is changed forever: the fleet is suddenly attacked by unidentified creatures while he is performing aerial stunts for a concert by the wildly popular idol Sheryl. Alto quickly finds himself in the cockpit of a new-model fighter struggling to protect Ranka Lee, a young girl he met only hours earlier, from the invaders' swath of destruction. Noting his performance during this incident, the S.M.S. Skull Squadron private military company invites Alto to join their organization, where he continues protecting his friends and Macross Frontier.
Both are the newest installments of long recognized futuristic mecha series. They have brilliant animation with political conflicts and subplots of close-knit mecha commanders.
Seekers of giant robot porn look no further. These are both splendidly animated series in well established franchises. They are also fairly good jumping on points if your are unfamiliar with said franchise. While Macross is focused somewhat on pop music they are both sure to please fans of the genre.
Simon lives a boring life in the underground village of Jeeha, where his main job day in and day out is to dig tunnels. His close friend Kamina, however, longs to bust out of their oppressive existence and reach the surface world where open skies and adventure await! One day, during his usual digs, Simon discovers a robot with a big face buried amongst the rocks. No sooner has he shown Kamina his mysterious find when two beings from the surface crash land into Jeeha Village - one is a gun-toting woman calling herself Yoko and the other is a terrifying mecha piloted by a Beastman! Seeing their chance to escape village drudgery, Kamina rallies Simon and Yoko to defeat the invader using their new robot, Lagann. However, upon breaking out onto the surface world, Simon, Kamina, and Yoko encounter enemies more powerful than they could have envisioned. Their fight for adventure just turned into a war for the survival of the human race - will their lust for freedom hold out against such terrible odds?
Obviously these two series are both in the Mecha genre but have more in common than just that. They both recently came out in 2007 and are both excellently animated. Both Gundam 00 and Tengen Toppa have excellent story lines and are two of the best Mecha series to come out in a long time. The story line of both of these have very dramatic and moving moments. While Tengen Toppa tends to be a little more light hearted through out the series, Gundam 00 deals more with the serious side of warfare. Overall both of these series are excellent examples of this genre, and if you love one you'll love the other.
Seekers of giant robot porn look no further. These non-stop robotic slugfests will instantly gratify your mechanical cravings. Gundam is more hardcore sci-fi and politically focused while Gurren Lagann is all about epic battles.
In the future, Earth is split into three factions: Dorssia, an empire bent on world domination; ARSUS, a military alliance; and Jiro, a collection of neutral states with colonies across the galaxy. On one such colony, Haruto Tokishima lives a carefree life at Sakimori High, where his greatest concern is mustering the courage to confess to his childhood friend, Shouko. His idyllic life is broken, however, when a team of Dorssian super-soldiers, led by the enigmatic L-elf, assaults the colony to retrieve the 'Valvrave', a mobile suit secretly being constructed there. In the resulting chaos, Haruto watches as Shouko disappears within a laser’s blast; enraged, he climbs into the now accessible Valvrave, and defeats the Dorssian army after forsaking his humanity to the machine. Haruto pledges to protect the colony, but can he come to terms with what he's given up to gain such power?
Both anime a similar in few aspect as great mech fighting scenes, some character development and involvement in nation conflicts. Though Kakumeiki Valvrave have a "lighter" tone that Gundam 00 and story goes aroud school drama. While Gundam 00 takes itself more serious with involvement of politics and deeper character struggles. If you watched one I recommend to watched other one or at least give a try and don't be afraid of Gundam 00 just ,because Gundam franchise is so wast. Don't worry you will not lose anything since Gundam 00 are in different timeline that others Gundam anime series.
Similar themes on both sides, straight up to the drama, the protaganist with the special abilities and obviously the giant robots. Won't say much more for fear of spoilers.
Half a year has passed since Sousuke Sagara took up the job of protecting Kaname Chidori and has started living like a normal teenager for the first time. A former child soldier, his view on the perils of everyday life is highly unconventional and in frequent need of violent adjustment; Kaname can only hope her endless assault will eventually get him used to normal life. But a shadow looms over their happy days as Sousuke's employer, the private army called Mithril, is attacked by a new unknown enemy. Suddenly outgunned, can Mithril afford to keep one of their best playing around?
While both Gundam 00 and FMP do have mecha battles, they are even more similar in the main characters. Both Sousuke and Setsuna grew up in the midst of fighting and war. This gives each of their characters a unique outlook to the world. So, I think with a mix of action, militaristic combat, and similar main characters, you would enjoy one if you liked the other. Be aware that FMP has comedy/romance while Gundam 00 does not.
Haruto Tokishima - by now every citizen of JIOR knew the name of this hero who confronted the Dorssian army's unjustified invasion and courageously defended his fellow students of Sakimori Academy. But after seeing the sheer power of the Valvrave, both Dorssia and ARUS were ready to take this mysterious humanoid weapon for their own at any cost! With pressure coming from both of these powerful nations, the students of Module 77 decide that it would be best to head for the moon, which is a neutral territory, and declare their independence as New JIOR. Meanwhile, Haruto, who was initially hesitant of confrontational situations, realizes that in order to survive, he and the other Valvrave pilots must fight to protect their school, country, and everything they held so dear. Why were the Valvraves created? What is hidden behind the "Magius?" Will Haruto and L-elf be able to reveal the truth of the world?!
There are numerous similarities between these two, but most apparent ones are obviously outer space conflicts, mecha action, politics and the cast of charachters. With some simialr plot devices, charachter progression, these two could appeal to the same kind of audicance, so if you liked one, you might like the other one.
Two and a half years have passed since the end of Naruto’s old adventures. He has trained hard with Jiraiya-sama and has returned to Konoha to reunite with his friends; but Akatsuki, the organization that threatened Naruto years before, is on the move again and this time Naruto is not the only one in danger. With the powerful Akatsuki organization looming ahead of him, Sasuke still missing, and the struggle with the beast hidden inside him a continuous battle, will Naruto's hard-earned improvements be enough? Join Naruto, Sakura, new friends and the rest of the old gang as the action heats up with new techniques and stronger enemies.
The conflict between Akatsuki and the shinobi nations is similar to Celestial Being and the 3 power blocs. There are also moments that are funny, light hearted, and dark but at the same time there are deaths involved as well that will bring impact on the characters and the plot.
The side story takes place in 2017 a.t.b., around the time Lelouch took on the alter-ego “Zero” and built up his “Black Knights” rebellion army. The setting is in Europe, where the Euro Universe (E.U.) allied nations are being invaded by the overwhelming forces of the Holy Britannian Empire. On the verge of defeat, the E.U. army forms a special division known as “W-O″, of which a young pilot named Akito Hyuuga is a member. Layla Malkal , a former Britannian Aristocrat comes to the E.U.'s aid, commanding the “Wyvern” Knightmare corps comprised of Japanese teenagers. They recklessly plunge into a battlefield, where the survival rate is extremely low, at about 5% only. They fight for their freedom, and for a "home" to which they can return.
Both mix the mecha action genre with themes of morality and politics. Furthermore, they seem to have similar levels of cynicism/idealism.
They also have similar characters, as well as character designs.
If you like one you should check out the other.
