Kyou no 5 no 2 TV

Kyou no 5 no 2 TV

Ryouta is a typical elementary school boy in class 5-2. He likes hanging out with his friends, he plays guitar on his broom instead of cleaning the classroom and he’s more interested in whose Superball bounces the highest than seeing a girl’s panties or sneaking a peek at a dirty magazine. However Ryouta also has the unfortunate luck of often being caught in the most seemingly-perverted situations at the worst possible times. Still, amidst becoming the guru of the turn-on of a collarbone, Ryouta continues to live a normal day-to-day life; that is, as normal a life as a tormented pseudo-perverted schoolboy can!

Same author, similar comedy style. That's all, but if the author of the manga thought that if you liked one you would like the other, who are you to say no.

NimirRa NimirRa says...

Though the ecchi in Minami-ke is almost non-existent, the comedy in these shows are strikingly similar. The serious way they approach ridiculous situations and the character relationships are also reminiscent of each other.

Both series involve sisters which have to go through everyday life. Even though they don't have any parents, they are still happy and continue on through many fun and sometimes strange situations. Even if somthing sad happens they can continue on with the help of their sister(s).

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

Trying to get along with your sister is not the easiest thing in the world, but if that is all the family you have then it is that more important.  Minami-ke and Binbou Shimai Monogatari take on just this situation with sisters trying to rely on one another with the deaths of their parents.  These series are all about supporting the ones you love no matter what happens.

Following this chance encounter, Kana learns of a job vacancy at the newspaper company that Yume works for and quickly applies. Now Kana has secured herself a live-in job delivering newspapers along with her new co-workers: lively Yume; quiet Yuki; drunken and perverted Haruka; money-hungry Hinata; and grade school deputy manager, Saki. Two animes featuring mainly female cast, focused on comedy but still able to pull some nice sentimental "we argue but we all love each other stuff".  Character types are different in both of them, but if you like one light comedy about young girls you can't dislike the other.

Adorable kids living their lives are the focus of both Minami-ke and Kanamemo. Add in a dash of every day drama and you have two very similar shows. If you love something a little more light hearted, then I highly recommend both of these.

Kodocha

Kodocha

11 year-old Sana Kurata is a positive, upbeat child actress with a rather odd life. She was adopted as a baby by an eccentric novelist who wears a live squirrel in her hair, her acting career is managed by a (former) homeless man who Sana unabashedly claims is her "gigalo", and at school her teacher has completely lost control of her classroom due to a group of blackmailing bullies led by "demon child" Akito Hayama. With her whole class in danger of failing, Sana decides she's had enough of Akito's nonsense at school and challenges him. The whole school is ready for a showdown as these strong personalities collide, but as the two very different kids learn more about each other, something unexpected happens. Is it possible for sworn enemies to become fast friends?

From two completely different decades, Kodomocha and Minami may look very different on the surface, but their innards share much humour. Plenty of wtf moments in both surround some more serious drama in some seriously crazy families. If you have an open mind and enjoy a good giggle, both of these shows are worth a look.

KittyEmperor KittyEmperor says...

Both series really certain around a female lead and her interactions with the other charactes.  Each female has the kind of funny and rarely serious personality that is aimed providing amusement for the viewer making them relaxed while watching either series.  Also each series main thing is that it spends most of it's time giving off a very relaxed feel and that the shows only there to provide the viewer with laughs and amusement.

shinigamidono shinigamidono says...

Both shows are very humorous in a very similar style. The art style is somewhat similar. Also, Kana from Minami-Ke and Tenma from School Rumble are very similar characters (cheerful, loud, dense and absolutely hilarious). There are also similarities in the sibling relationships (Tenma + Yakumo and the Minami sisters).

SakoChan SakoChan says...

Same type of random comedy, some of the main characters are alike (Kana-Tenma). Similar story.

Kana is as clueless to romance as Tenma. Lots of characters and funny misunderstandings in both anime

Yuyushiki

Yuyushiki

Yui, Yukari and Yuzuko have just entered high school, eager to have a great time. They quickly become the sole members of the Data Processing Club, using the computers frequently to look up information and find interesting videos. Brad Brad says...

Both of these shows are slice of life comedies that have a trio of girls as the main characters. While Yuyushiki features three girls in the same year at school, Minami-ke revolves around three sisters of varying age. The comedy with each is  fairly similar, with a lot of random and phyical gags in both shows, although Yuyushiki is different in that it has fairly prevalent shoujo-ai themes throughout.

Etue Etue says...

Both series largely follow a group of three girls, though the relationships between the girls is completely diffferent both series are enjoyable and comedic. Yuyushiki is a more classic example of school-life while Minami-ke is quite a bit more unusual following the lives of three sisters with each quite a bit of age between them.

Danchigai

Danchigai

Both series follow the daily lives of a group of siblings and also have a very similar sense of humor based on random antics. The only difference between them in the lenght of the episodes, so if you liked Danchigai and you want something similar but longer then give Minami-ke a try, but if you liked Minami-ke and you want something shorter then Danchigai is for you

ChalamiuS ChalamiuS says...

Both of these shows are slice of life-y things with comedy and they both focus on something that resembles a family setting.

Danchigai is a short series (12 eps á 4 minutes) while Minami-ke is a series with standard length episodes.

Minami Kana, the darker-haired middle sister of Minami-ke, shares many characteristics with Suzumiya Haruhi, the female protagonist of The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. The rest of their respective anime suffer with the hyper-hijinks that Kana and Haruhi drag them into.

Although you may wonder how these are related, if you watch both carefully, you notice that the exact same brand of sporadic, energetic humor is used in both Minami-ke and Adventures of Mini Goddess. Minami-ke keeps this better grounded in reality, while Adventures of Mini-Goddess just flies off the deep end.

Sheex Sheex says...

Despite being remarkably different in both premise and setting, both Minami-ke and Bamboo Blade emphasize humor focused on a slightly developed, amiable cast of characters. Bamboo Blade tends to follow a more set and distinct storyline, though, while Minami-ke is entirely episodic. Both series certainly have their charms and merits, and given their similar approaches it's not much of a stretch to see how these two apparantly different comedies fit together surprisingly well.
