Natsume is lonely; he has an ability that separates him from others: he can see and interact with spirits. But things get hectic and possibly dangerous for Natsume when he finds out that he also inherited the 'Book of Friends', a book that contains the names...

These supernatural anime both feature a young man with an otherworldly gift for seeing and communicating with youkai. They both wind up with a youkai "cat" as well.
While the energy is slightly different (Natsume has more of an "Iyashikei" feel), they both hold very strong similarities in their content. If you enjoyed Natsume, I'd say you are pretty likely to enjoy this anime as well.
The story and structure of this show is really nothing new but is well executed. Is very similar to Natsume's Book of Friends, the type of show that makes emphasis on the understanding of different cultures, personalities, and ideologies; using the Yōkai (supernatural monsters, spirits, and demons in Japanese folklore) as a simile for what the show is trying to say.
Both shows are mostly episodic as well.
