U.C. 0096... The manufacturing colony Industrial 7, which is still under construction, floats at Lagrange point 1. A youth named Banagher Links, who grew up without knowing his father, meets a mysterious girl who has stowed away on a ship bound for Industrial 7. As the white mobile suit Unicorn undergoes repeated tests and becomes the subject of diverse speculations, the hands of time begin to move. Banagher does not yet know that he has been caught up in the conflict surrounding Laplace's Box. What is Laplace's Box? What secret does it contain? The hundred-year curse of the Universal Century is about to be resolved.

U.C. 0097, one year after the opening of "Laplace's Box." Despite the revelation of the Universal Century Charter that acknowledges the existence and rights of Newtypes, the framework of the world has not been greatly altered. The conflict later dubbed the "Laplace Incident" is thought to have ended with the downfall of the Neo Zeon remnants known as the Sleeves. In its final battle, two full psycho-frame mobile suits displayed power beyond human understanding. The white unicorn and the black lion were sealed away to remove this danger from people's consciousness, and they should now be completely forgotten. However, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03, which disappeared two years earlier, is now about to show itself in the Earth Sphere once more. A golden phoenix... named Phenex.

U.C. 0068 - Zeon Zum Deikun suddenly dies while giving his speech to declare the Autonomous Republic of Munzo's independence from the Earth Federation. As Munzo falls in turmoil while the House of Zabi rises to power, Deikun's children Casval and Artesia must flee the colony to Earth in order to survive what is to come.

The Invid, the arch-enemies of the defeated Robotech masters drawn by the proto-culture left in the SDF-1, have invaded Earth and taken full control, and the entire world has been occupied. Humanity has either been killed off, enslaved or left to drift. This is the sad setting Lieutenant Commander Scott Bernard finds himself in when he, together with the others of the Mars base, returns to Earth. The Mars forces try to retake the planet, but are no match for the Invid, leaving Scott as the only survivor. In an attempt to continue the fight, Scott starts to assemble a band of freedom fighters, and fights the Invid wherever he can. All of this in the hope that one day, Earth can be retaken.

Universal Century 0096. Three years after the last conflict between Neo Zeon and the Earth Federation Forces, the tentative peace of the Earth Sphere is about to be shattered again. Cardeas Vist, the head of the powerful Vist Foundation, has decided to hand over "Laplace's Box," the secret of the Foundation's prosperity, to the supposed enemy, Neo Zeon. Banagher Links, a student at the space colony Industrial 7, rescues a mysterious girl who calls herself Audrey Burne. Audrey is seeking to prevent a war, but it seems she has come too late. As Banagher's home colony is devastated by the attacks of the enemy mobile suit Kshatriya, he finds his strange destiny and is forced to fight in the formidable weapon system known as the Unicorn Gundam.

It has been three years since Principality of Zeon's defeat in the One Year War. The colonies are slowly being rebuilt, and life continues forward – at least for most. Remnants of Zion’s forces, the Delaz Fleet, have not given up. After biding their time, they launch their 'Operation Stardust' by stealing the GP02, a nuclear-armed Gundam Unit. A small group of Federation forces are tasked with trying to regain the GP02; but even equipped with the GP01, can they stop these Zionist troops before Operation Stardust reaches completion?

Beginning four years after the one year war, 0083 starts with the arrival of two new Gundam units to be used for gravity testing. Things take a turn for the worse when members of Zeon steal Unit 2 and the nuclear warhead it that it has been armed with. Young test pilot-in-training Kou Uraki, piloting Gundam Unit 1, must now capture the stolen Gundam before it can be used to fulfill Zeon's mysterious "Operation Stardust".

Hikaru Ichijyo is a fighter pilot who lives onboard the Macross -- a spaceship that is under constant attack by the alien race Zentraedi and stranded light years from home. When it is discovered that Minmay's singing may be the only thing that can prevent a galactic war, Hikaru must set out to find her once again, and make the most difficult decision of his life: the love that got away, or the love he currently holds dear?
